  • Patent number: 7632042
Abstract: An alignment device is disclosed use in maintaining the alignment of longitudinal frame members of a trench-forming assembly. The alignment device comprises a cross member. Extending in the same direction from opposite ends of the cross member is at least one pair of first lateral extensions. The pair of lateral extensions is spaced apart so as to contact the respective longitudinal frame members of the trench-forming assembly, and thereby maintain the two frame members at a distance relative to each other. The alignment device may further include at least one interior extension extending from the cross member in the same direction as the pair of first lateral extensions. In this embodiment, the interior extension defines a slot between the interior extension and at least one of the first lateral extensions, where the slot is structured is to receive at least a portion of one of the longitudinal frame members.

Abstract: An assembly is provided for forming a trench of a predetermined shape. The trench-forming assembly includes a removable longitudinal form body, a pair of frame members and at least one mounting bracket assembly. The form body is capable of shaping a moldable trench forming composition poured around the form. Each frame member includes a support surface, and is in engagement with a respective side surface of the form body. The mounting bracket assemblies, each of which can include a mounting bracket and a pair of hook members, extend laterally across the top surface of the form body. In this regard, each mounting bracket assembly removably engages a downwardly facing side of the support surface of the frame members.

  • Publication number: 20030082009
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for forming a trench drain. In one embodiment, the apparatus for forming a trench drain includes an elongated trench form, first and second spaced apart frame rails, a support member and a first and second fastener. The trench form includes at least one folding member folded along predetermined lines. The support member is affixed to the first and second frame rails to maintain the first and second rails in a fixed position relative to each other. The support member includes first and second fastener bearing surfaces spaced above respective uppermost surfaces of transverse portions of the first and second frame rails. The first and second fastener bear against fastener bearing surfaces of the support member and releasably engage the first and second frame rail. A joint support member may be included to align adjacent trench drain assemblies.

  • Patent number: 6220784
Abstract: An apparatus for forming a trench which is adapted to receive at least one grate that will cover the trench. The apparatus comprises first and second frame rails that are connected by at least one removable spacer. The spacer is sized and configured to maintain proper alignment and spacing between the first and second frame rails during the formation of the trench. The removable spacer is connected to the first and second frame rails with spacer securing means. In addition to securing the at least one spacer to the first and second frame rails, the securing means also can be used to fixedly secure the at least one grate in place on the first and second frame rails.

  • Patent number: 5347074
Abstract: Fly ash generated from incineration of municipal solid waste (MSW) when placed in landfills can under mild acid conditions can leach lead and cadmium. A process for stabilizing heavy metals in this fly ash is presented which involves calcining the fly ash in the presence of an oxygen containing gas stream at a temperature greater than about 400.degree. C. and less than about 600.degree. C. for times from about 170 seconds up to about 5 hours fly ash which has been subjected to calcium scrubbing for acid gas removal. Such treated MSW fly ash will give leachates containing heavy metal concentrations less than the EPA regulatory limit.
