Blower Or Pump Housing Movably Mounted Relative To Receptacle Patents (Class 406/103)
  • Publication number: 20030185637
Abstract: A process and apparatus for effecting the transportation of sulfur pellets with the recovery of sulfur fines is disclosed. This is accomplished by a combination of steps and apparatus which include pumping water from a water supply into solid sulfur pellets with a jet-venturi/eductor pumping system to produce a sulfur water slurry containing sulfur pellets and sulfur fines, pumping the sulfur water slurry with one or more rotating disk/boundary layer pumps to a series of static screens to remove large lumps and impurities, a sulfur fines slurry, and a washed sulfur pellet slurry, contacting the sulfur pellet slurry with a dewatering disk to remove substantially all the remaining water, transporting the dewatered sulfur pellets to storage, pumping the sulfur fines slurry to a hydrocyclone to separate all the water from the sulfur fines, recycling the recovered water to said water supply following the addition of an alkaline neutralizing agent when needed, and recovering the sulfur fines.

  • Patent number: 4930944
Abstract: A blower for conveying material includes a housing and a spout. The housing has a front wall, a rear wall and an arcuate side wall extending between the front and rear walls. A plurality of arms with paddles mounted thereon are rotatable within the housing to discharge material through the spout. Springs are provided to urge a portion of the housing side wall into a normal position while permitting this side wall portion to be flexed outwardly if a foreign object such as a rock impacts against the inside of the housing side wall with enough force to overcome the springs. Permanent deformation to the housing is thus prevented by the springs.

  • Patent number: 4586853
Abstract: This is an improved apparatus used with a storage and reclamation apparatus which handles slurry formed of particulate matter and fluid. The reclaim apparatus includes a tank having a side wall and bottom. The slurry is added into the tank and is subsequently removed from the tank by a downwardly facing bell mouth coupled through a pipe to a pump. Fluidizing jets surround the bell mouth with a dilution control port mounted between the mouth and the pump. The dilution control port is connected to a second pump in series with a source of fluids. Process control apparatus measures the flow and density of the material being drawn into the mouth and adds or reduces dilution fluid in accordance with a set point so that a constant density is maintained at all times. The improved version accepts the overflow from the tank into a second tank which has a second bell mouth mounted at the bottom of the tank.

  • Patent number: 4586852
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the density from a reclamation slurry tank or silo includes apparatus for adding slurry to the tank, an overflow from the tank which communicates with a sump, and reclamation apparatus mounted toward the bottom of the tank. The reclamation apparatus essentially comprises a bell mouthed pipe directed downwardly and exiting horizontally from the tank. The pipe is connected to a pump for removing slurry accumulating at the bottom of the tank. The pipe also includes apparatus for measuring the density and/or flow through the pipe. The density from the tank is controlled by a fluid inlet mounted between the bell mouth and the pump which forces fluid into the pipe in accordance with the measured flow or density as compared to a predetermined flow or density. To facilitate the operation, various fluidizing jets are included around the bell mouth and around the bottom of the tank.

  • Patent number: 4301943
Abstract: Process and apparatus for unloading melamine powder from a bulk shipping or transporting containers. The apparatus is comprised of a uniquely designed portable hopper or discharge chute provided at its discharge end with a rotary pump that is removably attachable to a tiltable bulk container. The process of unloading the bulk container involves the creating of a particular shaped flow from the bulk container so that bridging and other flow problems associated with flowing melamine powder does not occur.
