  • Patent number: 11358814
Abstract: A system for preparing a dry process material includes a sealed container that holds and seals the dry process material therein and prevents airborne dust or particles from the dry process material from escaping the sealed container. Sealed processing equipment receives the dry process material from the sealed container and prevents the airborne dust or particles from escaping the sealed processing equipment. A sealed connection sealingly couples the sealed container to the sealed processing equipment and prevents the airborne dust or particles from escaping while transferring the dry process material. A sealed transfer conduit is sealingly coupled to and extends from the sealed processing equipment.

  • Patent number: 5551553
Abstract: An apparatus is described for transporting particulate material. A housing includes a wall defining an inlet and a wall defining an outlet spaced downstream from the outlet. A duct is enclosed in the housing between the inlet and outlet, the duct being formed between first and second substantially opposed drive walls moveable relative to the housing from the inlet toward the outlet and at least one arcuate wall extending between the inlet and the outlet. The drive walls have a greater surface area for contacting the solid material than the arcuate walls. The drive walls rotate relative to an axis. An assembly is provided for positioning the second drive wall in the housing for rotation in a plane at an angle relative to the axis such that the distance between the first and second drive walls adjacent the inlet is greater than the distance downstream from the inlet when the drive walls are moving.

  • Patent number: 4998845
Abstract: A system for containing oil or other contaminants which have leaked from an oil tanker or similar structure is disclosed. A series of flotation members are connected end to end and stored around the perimeter of the tanker. A membrane is folded and packed into a recess in each member and held between the member and the tanker. The members are held against the sides of the tanker by a movable stay. In case of an oil leak, a triggering mechanism sequentially moves the stays to release the flotation members, which drop off the tanker into the water. One edge of the membrane is attached to the members while the opposite edge of the membrane is free. The free edge of the membrane falls from the members so that the membrane forms a curtain in the water. Each flotation member is further connected to adjacent members by a flexible jacket and adjacent edges of each membrane are connected to each other. In this manner a continuous curtain surrounds the tanker to prevent passage of all or most of the spilled oil.

  • Patent number: 4941295
Abstract: This relates to an elevating system for elevating used abrasive particles in a blast machine arrangement so that theused abrasive particles may be returned to an associated blast head for reuse. Basically speaking, the abrasive particle elevating system includes a throwing wheel mounted within a housing to which there is coupled an elevating casing. These two elements replace the normal and more expensive installation a bucket type conveyor for delivering the used abrasive particles and materials removed thereby to an elevated separator associated with a supply bin for abrasive particles for an elevated blast head. The throwing wheel may be of a varied construction and there may be at least two throwing wheels in tandem to provide for a greater elevating height or horizontal distance. If desired, a second throwing wheel may throw the used abrasive particles over the roof of a blast room so that there may be a blast head on two opposite walls of the blast room.

  • Patent number: 4903419
Abstract: A method of and apparatus for continuously dredging sludge deposited on an underwater bed, at a high density of the sludge, according to which digging and scooping devices are placed in an airtight hood opened at its bottom, which is applied on the intended underwater bed and into which air is then introduced to obtain a condition in which water is removed out of the hood, and the digging and scooping devices are then put into operation, whereby dredging is effected at a high efficiency in that the content of water in sludge being dredged is suppressed to a minimum, the sludge being transferred under pressure in a state of containing substantially no additional water than it naturally contains.

  • Patent number: 4616961
Abstract: A forage blower having an upwardly extending, tangential blower outlet transition member which is hinged along one of its sides so as to be swung laterally to thereby expose the inside of the blower housing. By swinging the outlet member laterally, only a very small clearance is required between the upper end of the outlet member and the lower end of the conveying pipe which conveys the material to the top of the silo. The upper end of the outlet member has an upwardly extending lip which facilitates the connection between the upper end of the outlet member and the lower end of the conveying pipe. The hinge arrangement between the transition member and the blower housing is such that the hinge is mounted on and supported by the rim sheet bracket.

  • Patent number: 4595318
Abstract: A forage blower having an upwardly extending, tangential blower outlet transition member which is hinged along one of its sides so as to be moved to thereby expose the inside of the blower housing. The blower housing includes a two-portion rim sheet. A wear liner is secured in one portion of the rim sheet and is located generally in the lower part of the blower housing; this wear liner can be replaced by circumferentially shifting the rim sheet and the wear liner together to an area where the wear liner can be replaced when the blower outlet transition member is moved. The construction of the side walls, rim sheet portion and liner is such that a smooth and unobstructed inner surface of the liner and rim sheet is provided for the material being handled.
