    Abstract: An oscillating surgical rasp for use in the surgical preparation of a glenoid of a patient prior to implantation of an augmented glenoid prosthesis comprises an attachment head and a cutting head secured to the attachment head. The attachment head has a body that extends along a longitudinal axis from a first end configured to be secured in a chuck of an oscillating tool to a second end secured to the cutting head. The first end of the body of the attachment head defines an axis of oscillation that extends orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the oscillating surgical rasp. Surgical methods for the use of such oscillating rasps are also disclosed.

    Abstract: An abrading wheel such as a rasp hub for use in tire retreading machines includes two generally circular end, or side, plates with plural spaced mounting pins extending between and coupled to the two spaced plates. Rasp blades arranged in stacks which are arranged end-to-end about the wheel's circular circumference. Disposed between and engaging each pair of adjacent blades is a spacer, which is also attached to the mounting pins. Each spacer is curved lengthwise to match the curvature of the blades and includes plural spaced upper and lower recesses disposed immediately adjacent to its pair of adjacent blades to allow air to freely pass over the entire length of each blade as the hub is rotated at high speed to dissipate heat from the blades during operation for increased blade reliability and longevity.

    Abstract: A tire rasp blade made with an arcuate shape having a planar body with cutting teeth at the outer working edge. The cutting teeth extend laterally relative to the planar body in alternating sets of curved sections. The curved sections preferably form a sinusoidal curve along the outer working edge. The tire rasp blade is made by initially forming an arcuate blade of planar material that has an outer periphery of varying radii from a center point of the arcuate blade; then cutting teeth are formed at the varying radii of the working edge of the planar material; and then an outer portion of the planar material is deformed laterally in opposite directions to form alternating, oppositely curved sections, with the cutting teeth all lying approximately at the same circumferential radius so that they all contact the tire to be buffed.

    Abstract: A multifunctional device for removing material from an edge of an object and lifting an object from a support surface is provided. The device includes front and rear portions that are positioned at an angle relative to one another to form a pivot point. The front portion is positioned beneath the object while a user applies a downward force on the rear portion to rotate the device about the pivot point to lift the object from the surface. A pair of opposed sidewalls extend from an upper surface of the device and a top wall is coupled between the sidewalls to form a channel. At least one protrusion extends from the top wall into the channel to remove material from the edge. In addition, a tab may extend into an aperture formed in the rear portion to engage and assist in the removal of a lid from a bottle.
