Having Externally Threaded Shank Connected To Tool-support Patents (Class 408/171)
  • Patent number: 11298751
Abstract: An adjustable cartridge for a boring bar includes a support structure including a surface for abutment with a peripheral area of a boring bar. A load-bearing structure mounts a cutting insert assembled to be movable in a first direction on the support structure. An adjustment mechanism is arranged to adjust the position of the load-bearing structure in relation to the support structure. The adjustment mechanism includes at least a first elastic means arranged to exert force against a first surface of the load-bearing structure, and an adjustment part disposed between the support structure and a second surface of the load-bearing structure and arranged to contact and to be movable in a second direction relative to the support structure and the load-bearing structure. The adjustment part has a surface that forms an acute angle with the second direction and is disposed in contact with a second surface of the load-bearing structure.

  • Patent number: 8157488
Abstract: Shaft tool with an adjustable cutting diameter, which permits improved handling. A rotating shaft tool, in particular a multi-stage reamer, with a first shaft part, equipped with a first cutting head comprising e.g. several cutting blades and a recess in the first shaft part, in which a second shaft part is positioned in the axis of the first shaft part, the second shaft part having a second cutting head with e.g. several blades and the diameter of the first cutting head being adjustable. The second shaft can be rotated in the first shaft part and the rotation in relation to one another creates a fixed connection between the shaft parts. This permits the connection between the two shaft parts and thus in particular the diameter of the first cutting head to be modified even though the shaft tool is inserted into e.g. a spindle of a machine tool.

  • Publication number: 20080253830
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to install an anchor bolt with sufficient strength without lowering strength even when a reinforcing member exists. According to the present invention, in a method of installing an anchor bolt in a fixing surface, first, a first fixing hole for fixing the anchor bolt is drilled in the fixing surface. Then, a second fixing hole is drilled from a distal end portion of the first fixing hole in an inclined state. Afterward, an anchor bolt bent at a middle portion thereof is fixed to the first fixing hole and the second fixing hole.

  • Patent number: 6575672
Abstract: The invention relates to a superfinishing tool having a shank (2), as well as at least one rigid cutting edge (16) and at least one guide rib (30) on the periphery. In addition, or alternatively, the cutting edge (16) and/or the guide rib(s) (30) can be configured to form a single-piece solid tool with the shank (2). The guide beads or ribs guarantee steady, stable functioning of the tool in spite of high rotational speed and/or hardness of the workpiece. An additional advantage is provided by producing the tool as a solid tool, i.e. made of solid hard metal.

  • Patent number: 5971675
Abstract: A boring device for finishing high precision bores including a cylindrical body and a tool supporting member movable in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical body and adapted to retain a boring tool or implement. Movement of the tool supporting member is caused upon rotation of a rotatable ring which is mounted for rotation about the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical body, such rotation of the ring acting to move a crossbeam along the longitudinal axis. The crossbeam is fixed to, and similarly moves, an elongate rod and an oblique extension thereof. The oblique extension is slidably engaged at least partially within the tool supporting member. The crossbeam extends substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical body and has at its ends threads in engagement with an internal thread of the rotatable ring. Axial movement of the crossbeam is enabled by its receipt within an axially extending slot of the cylindrical body.

  • Patent number: 4705435
Abstract: A coolant and lubricant is supplied to the cutter head through the shank of a reamer. For this purpose an axial channel extends through the reamer shank and encloses in its front part a conical screw used for adjusting the cutter head and whose threaded shank has at least one longitudinal slot, so that the coolant and lubricant passes through the threaded shank into a ring channel in the front region of the reamer. The coolant and lubricant flows from said ring channel via outlet channels between the cutters. The outlet channels slope outwards in the direction of the leading edge of the cutters, so that an optimum cooling and lubrication of the latter is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4416569
Abstract: A tool holder incorporating a tool position compensating mechanism which comprises a screw shaft rotatably supported in a tool mounting shell in axial alignment therewith and engageable with a stationary member on a machine tool for relative rotation with the mounting shell is disclosed. A sleeve is threadedly engaged with the screw shaft to be axially moved at the time of relative rotation between the mounting shell and the screw shaft. This sleeve, when axially moved, actuates a transmitting member, supported in the shell, by the wedge action of a cam surface formed thereon, so that a cutting blade support end of a tool secured on the mounting shell is bent to adjust the position of a cutting blade on the tool.

  • Patent number: 4047829
Abstract: An adjustable floating reamer characterized by its relatively great length and small diameter embodying a closure cap for the diametrically slotted end of a shank member which has a long and thin tubular portion which closely embraces and supports the slotted end of the shank member and which has a closed end in abutting engagement with the slotted end of the shank member to define therewith a rectangular slot in which overlapping reamer blades are slidably supported for radial adjustment and for radial floating movement about a pivot which is spaced a great distance from the blades so that no binding action occurs during the floating movement of the blades during use of the reamer.
