Including Friction Gearing Drive Patents (Class 409/169)
  • Publication number: 20110286811
Abstract: A feeder for a machine tool moves a table relative to a saddle in one axial direction by rotation of a motor. A ball thread shaft is attached in a manner engaging with a nut fixed to the saddle, and rotatable but immovable relative to the table, and is coupled to the motor fixed to the table. A length obtained by adding a relative movement distance S of the saddle relative to the table to a size Ls of the saddle in a direction of movement relative to the table is shorter than a size Lt of the table in a direction of movement relative to the saddle (i.e., (Ls+S)<Lt).

  • Publication number: 20090136311
Abstract: To provide a device and a corresponding method for producing a slit diaphragm using a very simple production process, the device includes a cutting tool (12) capable of cutting along a straight line, and means capable of effecting a relative movement between the cutting tool (12) and a workpiece (10), such that the cutting tool (12) cuts the workpiece (10) along a line which corresponds a beam path in the slit diaphragm to be produced.

  • Patent number: 5511913
Abstract: In a wheelset processing operation, in which non-positive driving of the wheelset (1,1') is effected, the processing tools (2,2') act on the wheelset (1,1') at the same time in different directions such that the tangential components (3,3') of the tool forces are substantially compensated. This enables the wheelset processing time to be reduced and enables the machining accuracy to be improved.

  • Patent number: 4781049
Abstract: An apparatus for creating a florentine finish on a gold strip comprising a table-like support including spaced-apart driven friction wheels which move the gold strip across the upper surface of the support beneath a rotating and oscillating cutter wheel which grinds or cuts the upper surface of the gold strip as it passes therebeneath.
