Abstract: An electrolyte system (40) for use in connection with an electrochemical cell (10). The cell (10) includes a positive electrode (20) and a negative electrode (30) with the electrolyte system (40) disposed therebetween. The electrolyte system is a polymer gel electrolyte system including an electrolyte active species which may be either aqueous or non-aqueous and a polymer gel electrolyte support structure. The blended polymer gel electrolyte support structure includes at least a first phase adapted to absorb or otherwise engage the electrolyte active species disposed on and through the pores of a second phase which is substantially inert and does not absorb the electrolyte active species.

Abstract: Combining a plurality of two dimensional drive systems, a plurality of moving bodies can be independently moved by each of the two dimensional drive systems. Therefore, tools, robot-heads, work, etc. attached to the moving bodies can be moved independently. By attaching one of the two dimensional drive systems to another, the movement of both moving bodies are composed, so that the moving body of the one attached to another can be moved compositely. Therefore, the moving body or a tool, etc. attached thereto can be moved in a complex motion.
Abstract: A combination cylinder boring and deck milling machine that has horizontal and vertical tools that can be used for drilling or machining a work piece.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cutting mat board, and more specifically for cutting apertures including non-linear boundaries in mat board. The preferred embodiment of the apparatus of the present invention includes an automatically controlled rotating cutting tool, preferably with a V-bit for cutting apertures having bevelled boundaries according to a predetermined pattern. The preferred embodiment of the method of the present invention includes stacking first and second mat boards and cutting through said first board into said second, removing said first board into said second, removing said first board, and cutting the same aperture in the same location in said second mat board which has been stacked on a third, uncut mat board.
Abstract: A table exchanging device for a wood working machine wherein workpieces of wood can be individually attracted and fixed by a sucking action by vacuum and such sucking action can be maintained also while the slide tables are slidably moved. The device comprises a pair of hollow slide tables having air sucking holes formed in upper walls thereof, a hollow bracket provided in a pneumatically communicating relationship on each slide table, and a hollow tubular shaft provided on each of a pair of left and right beds of the wood working machine and connected to a blower or a vacuum pump. A first hollow arm is supported for horizontal pivotal motion on each hollow bracket and pneumatically communicated with the follow bracket at their mutually connecting location. A second hollow arm is supported for horizontal pivotal motion on each hollow tubular shaft and pneumatically communicated with the hollow tubular shaft at their mutually connection location.
Abstract: An elongated carriage extends between the beds of first and second milling machines to operatively join the first and second milling machines to one another. The carriage is attached to the milling machines in a manner which allows longitudinal movement of the carriage with respect to the milling machines to allow the milling machines to simultaneously mill first and second workpieces respectively.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for milling drill points in screw blanks. Form relieved milling cutters are rotated at unusually high speeds to produce high performance screws at improved rates of production. The cutters can be adjusted in a simple manner to achieve variations in drill point geometry, and the speed of the cutters can be controlled to carefully maintain the quality of the products and maximize the life of the cutters.
Abstract: A wood working router which comprises a plurality of turret heads adapted to be selectively operated and each having a plurality of radially and outwardly extending tools and the corresponding number of motors for driving the individual tools, a mechanism associated with each turret head for intermittently rotating the turret head so as to move a selected one of the tools to the processing position each time the turret head is rotated, and a workpiece holding and releasing device for holding a workpiece on a sucking table by suction and releasing the workpiece from the sucking action.
