With Means To Change Rate Of Infeed Patents (Class 409/196)
  • Patent number: 7809463
Abstract: A machining apparatus, in which a plurality of user set programs in relation to one axis is written and the amount of the infeed motion of the grinding wheel is increased to restrain the change of the load of the grinding wheel, improves a machining accuracy and achieve a longer life of the grinding wheel.

  • Patent number: 7269472
Abstract: A control device 40 controls the grinding processing at a processing portion of a work W so as to shift to the last precision grinding step from a rough grinding step through a middle grinding step and a finishing grinding step. When the grinding in each step is carried out, two processing portions are measured, and then, it is determined whether or not one or both measurement values attain to a predetermined value that has been determined in advance when each step is finished. When a processing time difference t is generated between the processing portions, by increasing or decreasing the feeding amount per unit time in a next step, the processing time difference is eliminated. Thereby, the finishing grinding step just before the last steps of the both processing portions are simultaneously finished.

  • Patent number: 6824336
Abstract: A cutting machine control determines a required stock-removal amount from a work for each of sections into which a tool path is divided, and feeds the rotating cutting tool at a speed that is controlled according to the required stock-removal volume so that the rotating cutting tool removes a predetermined or target stock-removal volume of material for the component path section from a work per unit time.

  • Patent number: 4637169
Abstract: The advance of a tool toward a workpiece is controlled with two acoustic transducers, one acting as a transmitter and the other as a receiver. The acoustic energy transmitted from the one to the other as the tool and the workpiece approach one another (this continuing until contact between the two elements) is detected and used to control a reduction in the speed of approach. The acoustic energy may be transmitted at a predetermined frequency, modulated or characterized in another manner.

  • Patent number: 4579487
Abstract: A tool adapter for use in drilling, tapping and milling operations with the spindle of a machining center having a collet type tool holder which holds the tool which upon advancement into the work piece at a programmed feed rate to a programmed depth rate utilizes a spring loaded unit to signal the computer numerical control through a transducer of the machining center in the event a tool is broken during the machining operation to automatically stop said operation.

  • Patent number: 4354798
Abstract: A rotary tool positioning unit for machining workpieces is disclosed having a rotary tool holder and a plurality of slide bearings cooperating with one another in such a manner that the rotary tool holder is capable of independent translational movement in either of two directions perpendicular with respect to one another and capable of independent rotation about either of two axes perpendicular with respect to one another. One of the translational directions is parallel to one of the rotational axes. The unit also includes an eccentric cam shaft cooperating with two slide bearings perpendicular with respect to one another for imparting a reciprocating movement to the tool holder in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tool holder.

  • Patent number: 4261675
Abstract: The cutting force applied between the cutting tool and the workpiece of a machine tool is periodically pulsated to expedite removal of material from the workpiece. The periodic cutting force pulsation is produced by periodically varying the spindle speed or the feed rate or both. In one embodiment, the periodic speed variation is produced by universal joints in the spindle drive and worktable drive. In a second embodiment, the periodic speed variation is produced by elliptical gears in the spindle drive and worktable drive.
