  • Patent number: 11731227
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a spindle structure including a base, a spindle, a sliding member, a restoring mechanism, and a restriction member. The spindle is rotatably received in the base and forms a receiving room. An end of the receiving room is a blind end communicating exterior via a gas channel. The sliding member is slidably received in the receiving room, and two ends thereof are a piston and a driving portion respectively. A gas cavity is defined between the piston and the blind end. The sliding member tends to move toward the blind end due to the restoring mechanism. The restriction member is connected to the driving portion and radially deforms when the sliding member slides so as to fix or to release the tool-holder. The sliding member slides outward when the gas cavity is injected with gas via the gas channel.

Abstract: A rotation brake for stopping rotation of a spindle assembly on a horizontal directional drill. The rotation brake comprises a brake lock that is actuated by a cylinder and spring to interact with a non-rotating brake cap and a rotating pinion, thereby stopping rotation of the pinion. The brake lock is removed from the pinion by applying pressurized fluid to a cylinder such that a cylinder rod moves the brake lock out of a cavity between the brake cap and the pinion. Upon removing fluid pressure from the cylinder, a compressed spring moves the brake lock back to into the cavity, preventing rotation.

  • Patent number: 9038486
Abstract: A device and method for measuring the clamping force a machine tool exerts on a tool holder that includes a piston or cylinder body defining a bore that slidably receives a piston. A fluid filled pressure chamber is defined between the piston and the body and a pressure gauge carried by the piston communicates with the pressure chamber such that movement in the piston in at least one direction exerts compressive forces on the fluid in the pressure chamber which is communicated to the pressure gauge. A retention knob is coupled to the piston and is engageable by the machine tool such that the clamping force exerted by the machine tool is transmitted to the piston. Hex-shaped structure on the piston that is received by a complementally formed recess in the cylinder body inhibits relative rotation between the piston and the body and facilitates installation and removal of the retention knob.

The sphere is configured to unblock the end of the longitudinal passage by losing contact with the sealing ring when a first force applied to the sphere from the spring is less than a second force applied by a fluid flowing through the longitudinal passage. The first and second forces are substantially opposite in direction of application.

Abstract: The invention relates to a clamping device for removably mounting a tool (3) or a tool fixture in a receiving part (1). Said clamping device comprises several pincers elements (33) which are concentrically arranged around a central axis (32) within the receiving part (1) and are impinged upon by a tension spring (39) so as to be moved into a clamping position in order to brace the tool (3) or the tool fixture. In order to be able to automatically replace a tool without using much force and energy, an axially movable closing element (17) is assigned to the pincers elements (33). Said closing element (17) impinges the pincers elements (33) in a forward position that is advanced in the direction of the pincers elements (33) for mounting purposes in the clamping position thereof, which is swiveled inward by means of the tension spring (39), while being movable into a retracted position with the aid of a detaching device (12, 16, 45, 46, 47) in order to release the pincers elements (3).
