Patent number: 6375397Abstract: A deburrer machine for cutting burrs (2), which consists out of a rotating deburring body (3) and travelling carriage (6) is foreseen for application especially on longitudinally cut slabs in flow. For deburring the deburring pistons (4) perform a rotary movement around the deburring body axis (21), whereby they approach to the cutting burr (2) from the workpiece side. Therefore the rotation axis is arranged in a way that the deburring pistons (4) turn below the lower workpiece surface outside the workpiece (1) after having finished the deburring procedure in order to lift again against this lower surface. Inside the deburring body (3) is placed a pressure chamber (18) which effects the lifting of the deburring pistons (4). Thereby the air contained in the lower piston guidance (12) is displaced and then the throttled air is led-off via bores in the lower part of the deburring piston (4) in order to dampen the piston movement.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1999Date of Patent: April 23, 2002Assignee: Gega CorporationInventor: Horst K. Patent number: 6099777Abstract: A method for cutting openings in a sheet of thermoformed containers. The sheet of containers is indexed into a cutting assembly. The cutting assembly includes a shear plate having a plurality of openings formed therethrough, and having an upper surface which defines a cutting plane. A locating means including a plurality of anvils is raised so that the anvils enter the containers and raise the sheet toward the shear plate. The end portions of the containers are located within the openings of the shear plate, and a portion of the containers is positioned in the cutting plane. The cutting assembly includes a blade mounted on piston/cylinder assembly for sliding movement along the upper surface of the shear plate. The cylinder is actuated to move the blade along the cutting plane. The blade cuts off the portion of the containers and creates an opening in the containers.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 1997Date of Patent: August 8, 2000Inventor: Craig A. Marshall

Patent number: 5253398Abstract: A hydraulically-driven deburring shear assembly used to remove dross from the edges of a slab of steel that has been torch cut. The assembly comprises a table assembly, a pair of arms, and a knife assembly. Each arm is adapted to alternately act as a pinch roll and a pusher arm to effect the consecutive deburring of opposed edges of a slab of steel, as follows. After the slab of steel is placed on the table, one of the arms is lowered to rest on the slab and apply a downward pressure on the slab, and the other arm is lowered to come into contact with the leading edge of the slab. At the same time, the knife assembly is raised to the level of the table. The other arm then pushes the leading edge of the slab back over the knife assembly to shear the dross from the edge. Both arms are then raised, the knife assembly is lowered, and the slab is traversed in the forward direction.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 1992Date of Patent: October 19, 1993Assignee: Capital Engineering, Inc.Inventor: James S. Patent number: 4610586Abstract: A knife support is part of the apparatus, and with a knife it passes by at the edge of the work piece which is to be deburred. The edge of the knife corresponds in its length at least to the length of the edge to be deburred. In order to be able to shear both the front end and the rear end of slabs with one and the same construction in a simple and sturdy way, the knife support is provided as a rocker arm which can be moved with a pivot drive. Patent number: 4362448Abstract: When a continuous cast slab is cut, such as by gas cutting, burrs tend to be caused at the cut edges. These burrs are removed by a plurality of edged cutting tools which are installed serially along the width of the slab to be treated. Each of the edged cutting tools may be selectively raised or tilted in the vertical direction or moved in the horizontal direction to substantially follow the warped or otherwise uneven surface on which the burrs are located. In this manner, substantially all of the burrs are exactly and completely removed.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1980Date of Patent: December 7, 1982Assignee: Nippon Kokan Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Nobuhisa Hasebe, Hiroshi Kawada, Tatsuo Kobatake
