The invention makes it possible to produce a plurality of sectors of screw threads on gun tubes instead of producing a single sector during each operation. The sectoring procedure is a machining process where portions of the screw thread are removed. The device for sectoring screw threads or gun tubes consists of a slide base assembly for positioning and holding other sub-assemblies of the device; a base plate with uprights for attaching to a machine tool bed or table; a clapper box head; and guide bars to provide for the exact positioning and longitudinal movement of the clapper box head.
