    Abstract: An apparatus includes a first pin half, a second pin half opposite the first pin half, and a center pull pin disposed between the first and second pin halves. The first and second pin halves each include a first end, a second end opposite the first end, a bottom portion proximate the second end, and a middle portion adjacent to the bottom portion. The bottom portion extends in a radial direction a first distance. The middle portion extends in the radial direction a second distance less than the first distance. The center pull pin is removable from between the first and second pin halves. The first and second pin halves are collapsible towards each other when the center pull pin is removed from between the first and second pin halves.

    Abstract: A screw with anti-loosening means, which includes a securing element with a ring portion and that can be inserted about a shaft of the screw under a head thereof and, with the screw in a state in which it is screwed on a base, prevents the screw from being turned back counter to a screwing-in direction. The securing element has on the ring portion, on a side facing the surface of the base, at least one projection which can be pressed into the surface when screwing in the screw. The securing element can have an outer circumferential region of the ring portion, with finger-like extensions which, with the securing element in the inserted state, extend along the circumference of the head and under spring-elastic forces of the securing element, contact a surface structure of the body that has an inhibiting action counter to the screwing-in direction.

    Abstract: A structure and method for a locknut with a substantially rigid locking member is provided. The locking nut has an elongated body relative to a comparable standard, non-locking nut. The elongated body allows the nut to provide a standard length of thread for engaging bolt members, while also defining a void for the receipt and retention of a removable and replaceable rigid locking member. In a preferred embodiment, the member-carrying void has a forged gear-shaped side-wall structure that substantially engages the locking member within the void while shipping or handling the lock nut, and also causes the member to rotate with the nut as the nut is rotated onto a bolt member, and off of the bolt when loosened. One of either of the bolt threads and locking insert deform responsive to the compressive forces, locking the nut onto the bolt.

    Abstract: A bolt with a partially threaded shank has a plurality of locking grooves located on the shank between the thread and its head. The bolt is inserted through a component stack and spacing washers and a stepped reaction washer such that at least half of the locking grooves are left exposed. A deformable frusto-conical locking ring is positioned on a nut having a circular receiving cavity on one end. The nut and locking ring are positioned on the thread of the bolt and tightened so that the locking ring is deformed from a frusto-conical shape to a substantially flat disc such that its bore diameter is reduced, thereby retaining it within one of the locking grooves. The outer diameter of the receiving cavity abuts the stepped reaction washer.

    Abstract: A graduated-load spring washer system for screws and threaded fasteners uses a deflection coil spring of slightly less than one coil with special end configurations for anti-marring. A cross-section of the coil spring is substantially trapezoidal, with the outer periphery thickness being the dimension of the trapezoid base and larger than the inner thickness dimension. When placed under the head of a threaded fastener and flattened upon tightening of the fastener, the device maintains a large tailored preload to prevent loosening even during and after stress relaxation and creep, and eliminates the need for a usual flat washer below the coil to prevent marring. The device also eliminates requirement for use of torque application measuring tools because preload can be determined by sight or tactile sensing.

In order to ensure a secure seating of the locking screw even under changing loads, a plate spring is attached to the end face of the locking screw and is spring-loaded axially, which abuts the base plate with its spring front face.
