The method comprises: disposing the metallic damping element on an inner side and a peripheral edge portion of the attaching-bolt insertion hole; inserting a male sleeve of a male washer and a female sleeve of a female washer respectively into the bolt insertion hole from both sides of the heat insulating plate; and fitting and fixing the male washer and the female washers to each other with a fitting portion provided on at least one of the male sleeve and the female sleeve so that the heat insulating plate is maintained in a state of noncontact with both the male washer and the female washer.

  • Patent number: 6283691
Abstract: A sealing nut is disclosed for sealed engagement with a workpiece. The sealing nut has a nut body having a lower face, and a bore extends through at least a portion of the nut body. A groove is formed in the lower face, the groove having a side wall which extends upwardly from the lower face. At least a lower portion of the side wall slants outward from a remotely disposed axis of the bore as the side wall extends upward from the lower face. A sealing element, such as an O-ring is disposed within the groove. The sealing element has an outer diameter greater than the diameter of the groove at the lower face of the nut body so that the sealing element must be compressed slightly to be fitted within the groove and so that the groove removably retains the sealing element in place without the need for a sealant or glue.

  • Patent number: 6264393
Abstract: A connection element (1) between a support (2), specifically a body part of a motor vehicle, and a plate element, specifically a door or wall facing. The connection element (1) includes an upper piece (3) attachable to the plate element and a lower piece (4) connectable with a support (2). A neck-shaped intermediate region (5) is provided between the upper part (3) and the lower part (4). The intermediate region (5) is equipped with locking elements (10) and penetrates into a support opening (7) embeddable contact piece (12). The intermediate region (5) above the support (2) is surrounded by a casing part (15), which is lockable with the locking elements (10) and the contact piece (12). A sealing element (20), which acts upon the surface of the support (2), is arranged between a casing piece (15) and a contact piece (12).

  • Patent number: 6244807
Abstract: A double seal nut having a wrenching element to which a torquing force is applied, an internal bore running longitudinally through the wrenching element and having a set of screw threads to be mated to a correspondingly threaded bolt by which to hold together a pair of opposing metal workpieces, and a washer base having a bearing surface to be seated flush against the faying surface of a first of the pair of workpieces. The double seal nut includes a Teflon seal ring located within the internal bore to engage the threads of the bolt and thereby block the leakage of fluid in a longitudinal (i.e. axial) direction along the bolt.

  • Patent number: 6231286
Abstract: A fastener is disclosed for sealed engagement with a workpiece. The fastener has a head having a lower face, and a shank extends from the lower surface of the head. A groove is formed in the lower surface, the groove having an inner wall and an outer wall. The inner wall has a proximal end which is adjacent the lower surface of the head and which is disposed radially remotely from the shank. A sealing element, such as an O-ring, is disposed at least partially within the groove. The groove may be configured so that a distal end of the inner wall is near to the axis of the shank than is the proximal end of the inner wall.
