Receptacle Contains Liquid In Which Charge Is Submergibly Sealed Patents (Class 414/290)
  • Patent number: 10770192
Abstract: A system and method for removing spent fuel assemblies from a fuel building and transporting them to on-site facilities. A cask transporter is moved into the fuel building with an empty spent fuel storage cask, spent fuel assemblies are loaded into spent fuel storage cask, the cask is sealed, and the cask transporter moves the loaded spent fuel storage cask to a handling area for final disposal. Components of the system include a penetration cover, a lifting mechanism, a control system, a valve system, and the cask transporter.

  • Patent number: 4495032
Abstract: A shale oil retort apparatus is provided for retorting oil shale under airtight conditions. The retort apparatus employs a split hub wheel device which allows for the axial feeding of crushed oil shale and the axial dispensing of spent oil shale. The retort apparatus utilizes a rotatable shaft on a stationary axle, said shaft containing three spokes that are set approximately equidistant apart. The spokes serve to feed raw oil shale, dip it into a hot oil bath and dispense spent oil shale out of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4379670
Abstract: A system for removing material from the bottom of a pressure vessel without relieving the vessle's pressure in which a tube connected intermediate its inlet and outlet ends to the pressure vessel receives material through the connection and into pocket means carried by a conveyor running through the tube. The conveyor carries the material to the outlet or discharge of the tube. The pocket means form moving labyrinth seals at each end of the tube for preventing vessel pressure loss through the tube.

  • Patent number: 4247240
Abstract: An apparatus for transferring solid materials between zones of substantially different pressures, the solid materials being supplied to a lockhopper containing a liquid having a density less than the solid materials, the solid materials with associated liquid passing through a solids-liquid separator chamber separating the solid materials and liquids so that the solid materials, substantially free of liquids, are passed into a vessel such as a pressurized reaction vessel.
