Vehicle Of Rail-guided Type And Track Section Having Rails Configured To Tilt Or Invert Vehicle As Result Of Moving Thereonto Or Progressing Therealong Patents (Class 414/357)
  • Patent number: 9090415
Abstract: A system for rolling a vehicle includes first and second guide tracks. The guide tracks extend over a receptacle positioned to receive cargo being carried by the vehicle. The guide tracks are elongated from an input segment to an output segment of the route. The first and second guide tracks are disposed on opposite sides of the input and output segments. The guide tracks are shaped to engage first and second guides, respectively, that are coupled to the vehicle when the vehicle travels from the input segment of the route toward the output segment of the route and over the receptacle. The guide tracks are curved over the receptacle to translate movement of the vehicle over the receptacle from the input segment of the route to the output segment of the route into a rolling motion of the vehicle that causes the cargo to be dumped into the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 5590995
Abstract: A conveying system provided with a rail system, with a trolley or the like, which is movable along the rail system, and with a switch device, by which a trolley can be diverted from one rail track to another rail track connected to the first rail track. The trolley or the like is provided with two guides, which are arranged some distance apart and which cooperate during operation with a fixed guide extending in the longitudinal direction of a rail track. The trolley is furthermore provided with two further guides, which are arranged some distance apart and which are furthermore arranged in staggered relationship with respect to each other, transversely to the intended direction of movement, for cooperation with the guides, which form part of the switch device, for diverting the trolley from one rail track to the other, which guides are disposed near the connection between the two rail tracks.

  • Patent number: 5178073
Abstract: This invention relates to a tipping rail vehicle including a wheeled frame and an open topped container body. It includes a connector pivotally connecting the body to the frame for rotation of the body at least partially about the pivot axis of the connector, with the pivot axis being normal to the intended direction of travel of the vehicle, and at least one formation on the container body for rotating the container body about the pivot axis to discharge material in the body from its open top. Preferably the container body is in the form of a substantially cylindrical drum with the pivot axis of the connector passing through parallel side walls of the body on or adjacent the axis of the cylinder with the body opening extending over the length of the cylindrical portion of the body between its side walls above the pivot axis of the connector. The invention additionally relates to a tipping arrangement for engagign and rotating the container body of the vehicle of the invention.

  • Patent number: 4326829
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an overhead travelling crane for lifting and transporting a heavy load over an obstacle including a carriage with front and rear wheels mounted on independent axles for movement along respective rails. The rails engaged by the rear wheels are horizontal while those engaged by the front wheels each have a first section sloping upwardly from a starting point at one side of the obstacle, a central horizontal section extending over the obstacle and a final downwardly-sloping section. In use, a load is engaged with a support member adjacent the front end of the carriage and the carriage is driven along the rails to transport the load, the load being raised as the front wheels climb the first sections of their rails and being lowered as the front wheels descend the final sections.
