  • Patent number: 6120234
Abstract: A service cart transportable in a van or truck is comprised of a vertically oriented pyramid-shaped profile. The pyramid shape offers a high degree of stability, making it virtually impossible to tip over during normal operating conditions, especially during transport. The cart has a four-wheel base. One set of wheels is preferably swivel casters for turning sharp corners. A second set of wheels is larger and located externally of the cart. These wheels increase the base of the pyramid profile and add to the cart's stability. The service cart may be transported to and from a job site. The cart fits into a van or truck bed. To remove the cart from the vehicle, a ramp system is provided. A mechanical or electrical winch may be used to transport the cart into or out of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6038795
Abstract: A dredge having substantially a box-like shape, with an open front face and an open rear face, the rear face having a door hinged thereto and a lock member to hold the door in a locked position. An A-shaped frame member is pivotally secured to the front end of the dredge. Pivotable motion of the A-frame raises the front edge of the dredge over an obstruction. A pulley assembly is secured to the rear top end of the dredge, and a cable from the A-frame is placed over the pulley when the A-frame is to be pivoted to raise the dredge. A door is hinged to the rear side of the dredge. A locking hinge is secured to the rear of the dredge to lock the door in a closed position. The locking hinge includes a pivoting edge, which engages the top edge of the door, and a rectangular bar secured under the locking hinge. The rectangular bar has a width greater than the height so that rotation of the bar produces a pivoting motion of the locking hinge to unlock the door.

  • Patent number: 5893698
Abstract: A portable anchor device for resisting the reaction forces associated with conveyance of a load between horizontal surfaces with different elevations includes at least one beam member with at least one support member pivotably attached at its upper end. The pivotal angle is selectively fixed so that the support member lies flat on the upper surface. A part or all of the load weight is supported on the anchor device and motive force is applied to the load by a winch secured to either the load or the anchor device. An anchor bar near the upper end of the anchor device projects above and behind the proximal edge of the upper surface. The anchor bar is pivotable to maintain collinearity between motive force and load advance. A flexible line which transmits the motive force from the winch to the load is anchored at the distal end of the anchor bar. A safety gate is disposed to prevent load descent until the flexible line is taut.

  • Patent number: 5562391
Abstract: A transport apparatus that can load and unload load carrying containers directly to and from the ground, to and from specially designed receivers or from and to portable support stands. The transport apparatus includes a tiltable trailer having longitudinal guide rails or surfaces that receive anti-friction devices of the load carrying containers. The tiltable trailer can be carried by a ground wheel support chassis and can be pivoted between a substantially horizontal travelling position and a backwardly-downwardly inclined position at which the rear portions of its longitudinal guide surfaces have been displaced toward the ground to a position above the ground where they can engage the anti-friction devices of a ground supported load carrying container.
