  • Patent number: 10910248
Abstract: A flip-chip bonding apparatus for mounting semiconductor chips on a circuit board is provided with: a mounting head, to which a plurality of mounting nozzles for moving, in the vertical direction, mounting tools for vacuum-sucking the semiconductor chips are attached by being aligned in the Y direction, said mounting head moving in the Y direction; and an electronic component handling unit, that moves in the X direction perpendicular to the Y direction, picks up the semiconductor chips such that the semiconductor chips are aligned in the X direction, inverts the semiconductor chips, and at the same time, changes the alignment direction of the semiconductor chips from the X direction to the Y direction. Consequently, in the electronic component mounting apparatus, installation area can be saved and bonding speed can be increased with the simple configuration.

  • Patent number: 8447006
Abstract: A reusable up-ending device for loading or unloading nuclear fuel assembly shipping packages. The device has a translating base mounted to a fixed beam structure and two stabilizing arms affixed to a mounting fixture on the base that is secured to the operating floor. The stabilizing arms include a spring dampener and have a simple elbow joint that straightens after the package is up righted. Translation is achieved by means of a hand adjustable lead screw and enables the base to be most advantageously positioned. The shipping package is inserted into pivot mount blocks located at the front of the base and the package is secured at the pivot mount blocks by means of a trunnion and at the support arms by means of a locking pin. Once the package is up-righted the elbows on the support arms are locked in place.

  • Publication number: 20030091424
Abstract: An intermediate guide member is provided attachable and removable between a head portion and a supporting frame of a stocker for printing plates. A number of intermediate guide members is an element to set a time of starting downward movement of hooks supporting a leading end of a printing plate. Three conditions in accordance with lengths of non-detection times are set for detecting the printing plate to judge authenticity of the detection. When the hooks reach vicinities of stoppers provided at supporting bars of a reversal unit, the hooks swing, are pulled-in from above the slope, and transfer the printing plate to the stoppers. Thereafter, by rotating the supporting bars and the stoppers integrally around a shaft, the printing plate is pivoted over toward a back plate, and a lower end of the printing plate is transferred from the stoppers to a receiving plate without damaging the printing plate.

  • Patent number: 6540472
Abstract: A work support which assists in the inversion of a large workpiece has a supporting frame and a top frame. The top frame is provided with an intermediate hinge and an end hinge along at least one end, so as to be collapsible, and the leg of the supporting frame is hinged along the opposite end. The workpiece can be moved to one side of the intermediate hinge and the top frame can be collapsed, lowering the centre of gravity of the workpiece and standing it partially on edge. One or two workers can then easily shift the workpiece over to the other side of the top frame. When the top frame is raised back to a horizontal position the work surface is in an inverted condition, exposing unfinished surfaces for finishing. In the preferred embodiment the top frame is provided with a flexible membrane overlaying the intermediate hinge. When the top frame is collapsed the membrane curls upwardly and forms a cushion which supports the edge of the workpiece, and thus assists in the inversion process.

  • Patent number: 6149376
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method are disclosed for moving an elongate object such as a pipe between lowered and raised positions, preferably while rotating the object to maintain its shape. The system and method use two apparatuses, an upender and a downender for moving the pipe between lowered and raised positions. The upender tilts a lowered pipe received from a casting machine to the raised position and places the raised pipe on a support station. The pipe is rotated while on the upender through at least part of the range of travel. The upright pipe on the support station may be moved through an annealing furnace and then the downender may lift the pipe from the support station and tilt it downward toward the horizontal while rotating the pipe through part of the range of travel. The lowered pipe is then pushed off of the downender by kick off arms.

  • Patent number: 5507614
Abstract: A holder mechanism tilts and rotates a vertically oriented wafer-loaded cassette for proper presentation in a horizontal orientation to the robotic arm of a workstation. The mechanism includes a cassette holder, a support member, and a motor. The cassette holder has first and second supports that define orthogonal first and second planes. In two embodiments, the support member connects the cassette holder to the motor shaft and, as the motor shaft rotates, the cassette holder is rotated about a single pivot axis that is oblique to the first and second planes. This rotation tilts a cassette placed in the holder through a tilt angle of about 45.degree. to 90.degree., and simultaneous rotates the cassette through an angle .theta. about the vertical axis. The support member shape determines whether tilting and rotation is away from or toward the motor, and also determines the angle of rotation .theta. and the tilt angle.

  • Patent number: 4854442
Abstract: Bottles are moved along a conveyor between a pair of spaced belts while lying on their sides, and may be in neck leading or base leading orientation. Each bottle is detected individually to determine its orientation. Signals, corresponding to the orientation of the bottle detected are sent to a selector switch which sets up bottle stand up apparatus to act upon the detected bottle. For base leading oriented bottles a bottle trip is positioned in the path of the bottle and, working in coordination with the pair of spaced belts, acts upon the bottle causing the bottle to pivot on itself into a standing position, on its base. For neck leading oriented bottles the bottle trip is removed from the path of the bottle and the bottle makes contact with a rotating wheel which, working in coordination with the pair of spaced belts, acts upon the bottle causing the bottle to arc about itself into a standing position, on its base.
