Pump Fluid Flows Serially From Motor Through Pump Patents (Class 417/371)
  • Patent number: 4371319
Abstract: A hermetic motor compressor for compressing refrigerant gas in air conditioners or refrigerators. The hermetic motor compressor includes a motor compressor disposed in a closed housing and consisting of a motor section and a compressor section formed integrally with each other. The compressor section has a cylinder head cover, discharge silencer and discharge tube through which the compressed refrigerant gas is discharged to the outside. The cylinder head cover, discharge silencer and discharge tube are covered by heat insulating members with suitable spaces provided therearound. Heat radiation from the discharge system is therefore prevented by the spaces as well as by the heat insulating members, so that the temperature rise of refrigerant gas in the closed housing is avoided to ensure a higher volumetric efficiency of the compressor.

  • Patent number: 4236443
Abstract: A chimney stack exhaust treatment unit and an improved exhaust gas treatment system utilizing such a unit are disclosed. The unit comprises a generally spherical outer housing which fits over the mouth of a caustic-resistant chimney pipe and encloses a horizontally mounted squirrel cage fan which is driven by an electric motor situated above it. The fan is situated directly above the chimney mouth so that when it is rotated, exhaust gases are drawn up through the chimney and swirled around the inner walls of the outer housing. Exhaust ports near the top of the housing provide an exit for treated gas. An inner housing encloses a fan motor, isolating it from the interior of the outer sphere. A conduit connects an opening in the outer sphere with an opening in the inner housing, and the inner housing includes a mouth directly above the fan, whereby rotation of the fan also draws outside air through the inner housing to cool the motor.

  • Patent number: 4231717
Abstract: Disclosed is an engine drive type generator blower comprising a generator directly connected to the output shaft of the engine, and a blower directly connected to the rotary shaft of the generator. The engine is enclosed by a stationary duct having on its forward end a cold air inlet. A catalytic converter for purifying the exhaust gas is arranged in the stationary duct. The air inlet opening of the blower is enclosed by a rotary duct which can be connected to the stationary duct. When the rotary duct is connected to the stationary duct, hot air is discharged from the blower. When the rotary duct is directly opened into the atmosphere, cold air is discharged from the blower.

  • Patent number: 4128364
Abstract: A radial flow fan of short axial length and large radial dimensions and of the type having the drive motor arranged coaxially with respect to the fan wheel and at least partly inside of the fan wheel. The housing for the fan wheel and motor includes a flat metallic square plate forming an axial end face and a synthetic resinous material circumferential housing attached to the metal plate. The circumferentially extending housing portion also includes a portion defining the opposite end wall of the casing with respect to the metal plate end wall, which opposite end wall has a central opening for inlet of air. The synthetic resinous housing portion includes an exit port for radial exit of the air. The metal plate is connected with good heat conductivity with the stator of the drive motor by way of a flange of a bearing for the shaft of the drive motor and by way of a contact disc which axially supports the rotor shaft at the metal plate.

  • Patent number: 4090816
Abstract: In an electromagnetic fluid operating apparatus such as an air compressor in which a piston with an armature axially reciprocates along a path substantially at a right angle to the magnetic flux generated by a stator core due to alternate operation by electromagnetic attraction and mechanical repulsion, exact collimations are automatically established between the armature and the stator core and between the piston and a cylinder for the piston when they are assembled together, thereby minimizing biased frictional abrasion of coacting sliding surfaces. Provision of an internal air reservoir at the air outlet terminal effectively reduces pulsation of air supplied by the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4033707
Abstract: A motor driven refrigeration compressor having a cylinder head and base of laminated construction. The laminations are formed from flat sheet stock with apertures which define inlet and outlet ports and passages for refrigerant flow. The base is bell shaped and the enclosed end contains integral inlet ports and passages which direct refrigerant past the motor and into the compressor. The base walls contain integral outlet passages which convey the refrigerant from the compressor to an outlet tube in communication with a condenser. Both the inlet and outlet passages contain noise reducing cavities which decrease the effect of the pulsations inherent in a piston-type compressor.

  • Patent number: 4032261
Abstract: A motor driven household mixer has a housing around a rotary motor in a plastic frame, the motor having front and rear bronze bearing assemblies with a fan adjacent the rear assembly and a beater gear box adjacent the front assembly. This is provided with an improved integral bearing strap and cooler for the front assembly comprising vents in the housing adjacent the gear box and a generally H-shaped one piece bearing strap with means securing one leg of the H to the frame forming the leg around the bearing, with the other and wider leg being bent out of the plane of the H and opening towards the vents said leg extending across the entire bearing width whereby air moved by the fan is funneled by the bent leg toward the entire bearing cooling it. The invention also includes a single means securing the one leg to the gear box in which openings are provided to direct the air to the bearing and around it and below the securing leg to cool the entire bearing and leg by forced convection.
