  • Patent number: 10330406
Abstract: A lower receiver for an AR15 type firearm is provided comprising a non-detachable magazine movable in the receiver between a first locked position where the firearm is ready for use (i.e. cocked and ready for firing) and a second non-operational position where the magazine is lowered sufficiently to open a window or aperture in the receiver enabling the user to load fresh shell cartridges into the magazine. A locking mechanism also is provided for controlling the position of the non-detachable magazine between the first and second positions. A child-proof lock further is provided to prevent undesired activation of the locking mechanism. Additionally, a novel locking plate disposed between the lower receiver's frame and the receiver's stock extension tube provides enhanced support for the extension tube and an accessory attachment point for a shoulder strap or sling.

  • Patent number: 9500431
Abstract: A dummy cylinder for a revolver that permits dry fire practice but does not permit the insertion of live ammunition. The dummy cylinder approximately duplicates the outer dimensions of a normal cylinder so that it may replace the normal cylinder for safer training. It may use the extractor and ratchet of the revolver or may be constructed to simulate the dimensions of those parts. It may contain integral firing-pin cushioning devices, or may be constructed to allow the insertion of such devices while preventing the insertion of live ammunition.

  • Patent number: 9482480
Abstract: The bolt hold-open system is a firearm bolt locking or holding mechanism for an AK-47 or similar firearm capable of automatically keeping the bolt of the firearm in an open position when the firearm magazine is empty. The bolt hold-open system includes a locking assembly and a modified magazine. The bolt hold-open system also provides a manual control for keeping the bolt in an open position and for releasing the bolt. The system prevents the bolt carrier from closing while there is an empty magazine in the gun, but can be easily activated to release the bolt when the magazine is removed or a non-empty magazine is in the magazine receiver. The system requires minimal modifications to the firearm and magazine and is easily adaptable to firearms similar to the AK-47 that fire ammunition in a wide range of calibers and configurations.

  • Patent number: 6732465
Abstract: A firearm, such as a handgun, rifle, machine gun, etc. has a frame assembly having a barrel defining a cartridge chamber and includes a magazine for serially positioning cartridges at a pickup location relative to said frame assembly and barrel. A reciprocating member, such as a slide or bolt is provided in the firearm assembly for moving cartridges from said pickup location into the cartridge chamber of the barrel and for extracting the cartridge cases of spent cartridges from the cartridge chamber and ejecting them from said firearm. The reciprocating member is machined to define a breech face recess. A cartridge specific breech face element is removably secured within the breech face recess to adapt the firearm to fit a cartridge of desired caliber and configuration. The breech face element can be provided in specifically desired dimensions to compensate for wide tolerances or wear of the reciprocating member.

  • Patent number: 6212991
Abstract: The invention provides an apparatus for reducing recoil on a firearm or gun and to increase rate of firing. The invention uses a dual mass system to dynamically balance the gun wherein some of the energy of firing is absorbed within springs and thereby reduces the recoil force imparted to the gun user. The apparatus also comprises an ejector mechanism for ejecting a spent round and reloading a new round from the gun magazine with increased speed over conventional designs. The apparatus is applicable to automatic and semiautomatic handguns as well as rifles and machine guns.

  • Patent number: 6044748
Abstract: Reliability of a multi-lug breech bolt is improved by modifying the bearing relationship between the bolt lugs and the matching lugs within a gun receiver. This procedure is applied to a gun that has a receiver housing a breech bolt and an extractor. The extractor is coupled to the breech bolt and configured to move relative thereto. The bolt for this gun has at least five radially extending bolt lugs configured for bearing contact with the receiver when positioned for firing. The bolt lugs include a first, second, and third bolt lug with the first and second bolt lugs being adjacent and defining a gap configured to receive the extractor therebetween. The third bolt lug extends from the bolt opposite the gap. Stress imparted to the first and second bolt lugs from firing the gun is reduced by altering the gun to prevent formation of a bearing relationship between the third bolt lug and the receiver when the bolt lugs are positioned for firing. The gun is reassembled as part of the procedure.

  • Patent number: 5741996
Abstract: A firearm frame constructed of plastic material having slide rail guidance members in the forward, central and rear portions of the frame. The frame is useful with a barrel unit which is cammed back and down by slide reciprocation and by a cam block which with barrel movement being arrested by the walls of a frame cavity. Forces and energy created in arresting such back and down movement of the barrel and block is transferred to the frame by the block hitting the frame cavity. A slide stop pin passing through openings in the frame and cam block also assist in transferring energy to the frame. Forces causing the slide to move upward during the arresting of barrel and block is prevented buy the rail guidance members. The trigger rotates about a trigger trunnion located in such frame cavity below the cam block.
