  • Patent number: 11333178
Abstract: A vortex ring generation device includes a casing having a discharge port, an extrusion mechanism, and a component supply port. The extrusion mechanism extrudes air in an air passage inside the casing such that the air is discharged, in a vortex ring shape, from the discharge port. The component supply port surrounds the air passage. A total circumferential length of the component supply port is ½ or more of a total circumferential length of the discharge port. The extrusion mechanism includes a vibration plate and a drive unit that vibrates the vibration plate. The air passage includes a first passage, and a throttle passage continuous with a downstream end of the first passage. A component chamber is provided inside the casing. The component chamber contains a discharge component to be supplied to the component supply port. The component supply port is located downstream of the throttle passage.

  • Patent number: 6612140
Abstract: The invention is a lock for a gun that locks the trigger so it cannot be moved. The lock fits between the trigger and the trigger guard and keeps the trigger from moving. One of the unique features of the lock is that it can be locked both by a key and a padlock. The lock is comprised of two sections that in the preferred embodiment are made out of plastic which are attached together by a flexible strip of plastic and, thus, can be molded as a single piece. In approximately the middle of both sections is an opening. In this opening is placed the lock cylinder with a pin. From the end of the lock cylinder extends a loop with a sufficient size opening that a shackle of a padlock can be placed through it. To use the lock, one places the two sections together between the trigger and the trigger guard and then inserts the key into the lock cylinder and turns it. Once the pin falls in the proper location, the lock is securely held together between the trigger and trigger guard such that the trigger cannot be moved.

  • Patent number: 5937556
Abstract: A device and method for firing a cap contained within a row of caps. The device includes a base structure for retaining the row of caps so that one of the caps is set in a predetermined firing location. A hammer pin is provided that is movable with respect to the base structure and the cap held therein. The hammer pin is positioned adjacent to the cap in the predetermined firing position so that when the entire device is compressed the hammer pin strikes and fires the cap. The device is preferably compressed by locating the device either in or on the sole of a shoe. As a person stands on that shoe, the device will become compressed and the cap will fire. The device also preferably contains an advancement mechanism for automatically advancing a new cap into the firing position after a cap has been fired. In this manner, multiple caps can be fired simply by walking, running or jumping.

  • Patent number: 5369007
Abstract: A microassay card includes an upper layer containing wells for receiving a liquid sample. A second layer of the card, beneath the first layer, includes a supporting surface bound to a reactive species. A third layer includes a superabsorbent support impregnated with an indicator. Typically, the indicator is a substrate for an enzyme, such as a reduced dye precursor and a source of hydrogen peroxide necessary for the action of the enzyme upon the substrate to cause a spectral change in the absorbent layer. By selecting the structure of the first and second layers, the card can be formatted for a displacement assay or a competitive assay. The microassay card of the present invention is particularly useful for drug testing.

  • Patent number: 5283970
Abstract: Toy guns are disclosed which are capable of simultaneously generating light and sound effects, having rotating a barrel assembly, creating vibrations in the body of the toy gun and operating a rapid indexing and cap firing mechanism. The rotating barrels, the cap indexing and firing mechanism and the vibration mechanism are all driven from a motor-driven gear and shaft assembly positioned within the toy gun. A dual action trigger is used to energize the light and sound effects when the trigger is activated to make a first electrical contact. Upon further activation, the trigger makes a second electrical contact which powers the motor and the gear and shaft assembly to drive the rotating barrel assembly, the cap indexing and firing mechanism and the vibration mechanism, as the light and sound effects continue.

  • Patent number: 5058303
Abstract: A toy fire-arm is disclosed comprising a hollow, butt-shaped handle connected to a trigger and barrel assembly, including percussion means for firing strip ammunition fed thereto. The handle has a seat for receiving and supporting a magazine therein. The magazine is insertable in the handle against the seat. The magazine includes means for supporting strip ammunition (S) arranged side-by-side also means for maintaining the plurality of strps (S) against one side of the magazine to enable the sequential feeding of each of the strips from the magazine to and through strip guide means to the trigger and barrel assembly. A slider means is also provided disposed along said one side of the magazine for slidingly feed strip ammunition containing firing charges C1 from the magazine in steps through the guide means to the trigger and firing assembly for firing by the percussion means.

  • Patent number: 4763430
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a toy cap gun which is battery operated. The present invention cap gun has a housing which has a general configuration of a gun with a barrel and a handle. A cap roll compartment and a battery operated cap advancing-repeat firing system is also located within the housing. In addition, there is a battery chamber located within the housing and electric circuitry is included which connects the battery chamber to a drive motor and to a switch which is connected to a trigger on the gun. The battery cap advancing repeat firing system has a drive motor, a gear system, a drive shaft, a cam, a spring-loaded hammer arm, a main spring, a strike plate, and a rotatable advance means. Uniquely, the cam is a step-function drop off cam which operates to open the hammer arm and then releases it so that it repeatedly strikes the strike plate so as to create automatic firing. The cam is uniquely trifunctional so as to operate a cap roll lock, a cap advance, and the hammer of the hammer arm.
