  • Patent number: 10317159
Abstract: A variable barrel camming system for a firearm includes a linearly reciprocating slide supported by a frame and a barrel removably coupled to the slide for movement therewith. A cam slot on the barrel slideably engages a cam pin mounted transversely in the frame. The slot includes a cam track surface having multiple angles and contours designed to control the motion and orientation of the barrel. When the firearm is discharged, the slide and barrel initially move rearward together under recoil forces generated. The pin slides forward in the slot over the cam track surface which is configured to rotate and uncouple the barrel from the slide which continues rearward alone. The cam track surface has a varying cam profile selected to gradually dissipate the kinetic energy of the barrel/slide unit in a controlled manner, thereby reducing the felt recoil imparted to a user compared to conventional cam systems.

  • Patent number: 9970724
Abstract: This device is a trigger safety designed for use on the Colt model 1911 pistol and clones of the same design. The primary safety of the 1911 design is a thumb safety located on the left rear of the firearm. The location of the thumb safety is not an issue under normal circumstances, but in high stressful situations where the shooter is anticipating the firing of the firearm the thumb safety location is troublesome. Under stress the shooter may forget that the thumb safety is engaged, and may pull the trigger without the gun firing. The time needed to disengage the thumb safety may result in a life or death situation. This device incorporates a two stage safety in the trigger system that functions when all other safeties are in the off position. The location within the trigger eliminates the fractional second delay that the thumb safety may cause.

  • Patent number: 9933222
Abstract: A catch device for the breech of a pistol, in which a spring acts upon a pivotable holding lever so that the latch thereof passes out of the path of the breech and the handle thereof is pressed away from the breech. Part of the holding lever is pivoted by the magazine slide, after the final cartridge has been pushed in counter to the force of the spring, so that after the cartridge has been fired, the breech is caught against the latch and remains in the region of the rear end position thereof. In order to increase service life, the spring is a compression spring, pretensioned between two claws of the holding lever and arranged in a slot of the housing so that one end bears against the base of the slot and the other end bears against the claw.

Abstract: A safety assembly for a rifle having a pistol grip extending from a receiver, the receiver having an operative safety shaft rotatable between a safety position and a fire position, the shaft positioned above and rearwardly of the trigger, and above and forward of the pistol grip. The shaft rotatable 90 degrees between a safe position and a fire position, a thumb engagement handle having an angled gripping portion angled from the shaft downwardly and rearwardly for the fire position and rearwardly and upwardly in the safe position, whereby the positioning allows that when the firearm is operated and the user grips the pistol grip, the user does not need to release and/or rotate the pistol grip to switch between fire and safe positions of the safety shaft with the thumb of the gripping hand.

  • Patent number: 9777980
Abstract: A firearm has a frame, a barrel assembly and a slide assembly which holds a recoil assembly. The slide and recoil assemblies are located above the barrel so that the barrel is situated between the topmost part of the frame and the bottom of the slide assembly. The barrel assembly includes a housing which is covered by the slide assembly and secures one side of the recoil assembly. The barrel assembly can be removably connected to the frame through front and rear mounts that may be secured using removable pins. The barrel assembly can modularly connect with the frame and slide assembly so that different caliber barrels can be interchanged with each other using the same frame and slide assembly. The firearm is operated by the firing system which includes the trigger assembly and linear striker assembly.

  • Patent number: 9651327
Abstract: The invention comprises a device and various optional modifications to the lower receiver of a semiautomatic firearm whereby the firearm is at least semi-permanently rendered incapable of quickly removing and replacing a cartridge magazine. The device comprises a means to mechanically retain the magazine in the lower receiver of the firearm such that special tools and at least several minutes are required to remove and replace the magazine. The optional modifications comprise elimination of certain standard machined features which accept and allow the use of a magazine catch, magazine catch spring and magazine catch button; introduction of a hole or slot through the sidewall of the magazine well to accommodate a magazine retention fitting which holds the magazine in place; and the interruption of the lower portion of a clearance slot in the magazine well to prevent installation of a magazine from the bottom of the receiver.

  • Patent number: 9612067
Abstract: An automatic handgun has an additional trigger mechanism and a sight. In one version, a draw bar in the butt is hinged to a rotatable fork and to the additional trigger, located on the left of the butt in an L-shaped groove. Upon rotating the fork the spring extends onto the left of the butt, and when the butt is closed onto a catch, the end of the fork grips the main trigger. Rotatable posts lie on the sight. Alternatively, a rotatable lever sits on the lower front of the breech. The lever has a post on which the additional trigger which fixes the horizontal and vertical positions is hinged, and is connected to the main trigger by a draw bar through the inside left of the breech. Shooting accuracy increases and the overall dimensions are reduced.
