Trigger Lock Patents (Class 42/70.06)
  • Patent number: 11852430
Abstract: A firearm safety device having a bolt for insertion through a trigger guard toward the lower receiver of the firearm. The bolt is inserted through the trigger guard so as to be positioned behind the trigger, in an axis generally perpendicular to the direction of pull of the trigger to prevent the trigger from be depressed and thus firing the weapon. The bolt extends from a base, which can be static in the form of a fixed bolt, or dynamic with the bolt configured for mechanized or electromechanical insertion through the trigger guard, such as by a lever operation, solenoid operation, or other operation. In one embodiment the safety device has a bolt affixed to a base, with the base configured to attach to the trigger guard. This embodiment provides a freely mobile transportable safety device. The safety device can be used with or integral with a firearm support mount, such as a gun rack.

  • Patent number: 11774199
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic device that is used to block the accessibility of a firearms Trigger. Wherein an electronic device is mounted on a rail or rail accessory and is locked in place using security screws and tamper proof fasteners allowing the device to fit an array of single action and striker-fired handguns. The security screws are in place to stop easy removal unless the possessor has the proper tool to remove them. The device its self uses a battery to operate and picks up a transmission broadcasted from a Bluetooth within its programmed range by the use of a Bluetooth proximity detector. Once the transmission has been picked up it activates its locking mechanism in the form of a solenoid causing its pin to lift and allows a slide placed In front of the trigger acting as a second trigger to move back and forth allowing the movement of the firearms trigger. The slide is moved back its original position by the use of a spring.

  • Patent number: 11578939
Abstract: A firearm with dual-acting safety mechanism in one embodiment includes a slide movably carried by a frame, hammer, sear operable to hold the hammer in and release it from a cocked position, and firing mechanism including a trigger and trigger bar which collectively operate to actuate the sear to release the hammer. The safety mechanism includes right and left actuator levers coupled together and cooperating with a safety rocker. The safety rocker is operably interfaced with the trigger bar and pivotably movable between two positions. Moving either actuation lever to activate the safety mechanism rotates the safety rocker which simultaneously both blocks the trigger bar from movement and displaces the trigger bar to disengage the sear which can no longer be actuated via a trigger pull. In one embodiment, the safety mechanism is further operable to lock the slide in the closed breech position when the safety is activated.

  • Patent number: 11441860
Abstract: Systems for universally locking a trigger of a firearm are provided that require authentication to transition the firearm to an unlocked state. In general, examples of the systems for universally locking a trigger of a firearm described herein are located in an interchangeable grip portion of the firearm or mounted to an accessory rail of the firearm. Embodiments of the system generally include trigger interference or blocking members to prevent actuation of the trigger until the authentication system has authorized the user to fire the firearm. Once the system is authenticated, embodiments of the system remain in an unlocked state while the user is grasping the firearm. When the user removes their hand from the firearm, embodiments of the trigger locking system automatically returns to a locked state, reducing or eliminating unauthorized use of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 9970725
Abstract: A firearm safety apparatus is provided that includes two or more locking arms or coverings connected by a hinge and configured to engage a trigger guard of a firearm, in a closed position preventing access to the trigger. A locking mechanism retains the arms in a closed position until opened by an activation signal. A firearm safety apparatus is also provided that includes a housing connected to a firearm. A trigger guard cover is slideably or hingably connected to the housing. A locking mechanism is coupled to the trigger guard cover to surround a trigger of the firearm until an activation signal is received. The locking mechanism exposes the trigger through a hinged or slide motion. The housing is amenable to inclusion of various tactical accessories such as a light source or a camera.

  • Patent number: 9933226
Abstract: Consistent with various embodiments, a firearm securing apparatus has a first securing interface that is configured to generate a holding force between the apparatus and a support surface in response to an applied pressure. A second securing interface is configured and arranged to receive and secure a firearm barrel and includes a graspable feature. A support piece is configured and arranged to physically connect the two securing interfaces and to provide space, to allow a person's fingers to seize a graspable feature and to allow the person to apply pressure sufficient to overcome the holding force between the apparatus and the surface in order to remove the firearm from the apparatus when desired.

  • Patent number: 9927200
Abstract: The trigger mechanism is characterized by the lack of the trigger moving bar, which function is assigned to the trigger lever. The trigger lever is not fastened with the trigger by any connecting element. The mechanism is equipped with the manual and falling safeguard. With using of the manual safety catch the putting on the safety catch of the firearm, against the shot, is controlled by bifacially manipulable fingerboards without the need of any change in the construction of the firearm or the need of the change of the grip of the firearm.

  • Patent number: 9696104
Abstract: A trigger can include one or more kinesthetic features to provide increased mechanoreceptor stimulation. This can give a shooter increased kinesthetic awareness of the trigger pull. The trigger can include any number of different kinesthetic features in different configurations such as ridges, grooves, bumps or depressions, raised or depressed surfaces, bars, etc. These features can provide an increased sense of feel to encourage the straight, even, efficient and/or consistent pressing of the weapon's trigger to produce consistent and accurate shot placement. The trigger can include two kinesthetic features or reference points, such as parallel bars, on the trigger face. With the parallel reference points the operator can apply equal pressure across the face of the trigger during manipulation.

  • Patent number: 9587898
Abstract: A trigger mechanism guard assembly includes two arms, each having a first end with a trigger guarding surface and a second end and a housing with substantially parallel side surfaces configured to at least partially enclose the second ends of the arms. The housing is configured to be movable relative to the arms such that the housing has a first position and a second position, the second position being closer to the first ends of the arms compared to the first position. Movement of the housing from the first position to the second position causes movement of the first ends of the arms away from each other.
