When intending to fire a round of ammunition, the user pushes the receiver forward with their other hand so that the trigger collides with the stabilized index finger. Recoil force quickly separates the trigger from the user's finger against the cradle. The user pushes the receiver forward to repeat the firing cycle. A firing mode selector can be selectively engaged to restrict longitudinal movement of the trigger relative to the handle, thereby returning the firearm to normal semi-automatic functionality.

Abstract: A quick release, free floating, multi-piece forward hand guard assembly for a rifle includes an inner barrel nut adapted to be affixed to a front of the rifle receiver and an outer barrel nut telescopically received over the inner barrel nut and longitudinally secured thereto. The outer barrel nut is non-rotatable with respect to the inner barrel nut. A first hand guard element is engaged with and extends forwardly from the outer barrel nut in a laterally stable cantilevered fashion, and a second hand guard element is matingly engaged with the first hand guard element for surrounding the rifle's barrel and is free floating therefrom. The second hand guard element is attached to the first hand guard element with at least one quick release fastener.

  • Patent number: 8601734
Abstract: A pivoting firearm handgrip allows a user to pivot the handgrip relative to the firearm into various locked positions. The pivoting handgrip includes a grip base and a grip body that are selectively locked together by a spring biased shaft having key formations. The key formations on the shaft engage keyway formations on finger structures of the grip body. The key structures of the shaft also selectively engage locking formations on supporting structures on the grip base. A spring is captured between the head portion of the shaft and the grip body so that the key formations of the shaft are spring biased to engage the locking formations of the grip base. In use, a user depresses one end of the shaft to disengage the key formations of the shaft from the locking formations of the grip base, and then freely pivots the grip body about the base.

The grip is configured to be disposed in front of the magazine well and provide a stable grip point which does not allow a user's thumb or other appendage to be disposed between the grip and magazine well. The grip is configured so as to not interfere with the pivoting relationship between the weapon upper and weapon lower during partial or complete disassembly of the weapon. The rear region may also have a portion extending rearward along at least part of each side of the magazine well to form feed ramps as a part of the magazine well extension. Included is a magazine well extension mechanically coupled to a forearm rail system for mounting to the firearm.
