Abstract: The invention relates to an air cleaning device essentially comprising at least a vertical hollow structure having a first perforated side surface forming an inlet (1-2) for the air to be cleaned and a second perforated side surface forming an outlet (3-4) for the cleaned air. The invention is characterized in that the vertical hollow structure is covered with a protective cover and decorative elements (15) are positioned outside said cover in order to conceal the vertical hollow structure completely or partially. The structure contains filter units, as well as a fan (6-7) that forces the passage of air between the air inlet and the air outlet, thereby eliminating impalpable components and preventing a reaction with impure gases which are also eliminated.

Abstract: The invention relates to a filtering media having a photocatalytic action which has a thickness of at least 2 mm, which is homogeneous and which is devoid of orifice apparent to the naked eye, comprising a felt of inorganic fibers, the fibers of which are coated with a coating comprising a catalyst having a photocatalytic action, said felt exhibiting a weight per unit area of between 30 and 80 g/m2, said coating representing 5 to 80% of the weight of said media, said media exhibiting a gas pressure drop of less than 150 Pa at 1 m/s in unpleated condition. This media is intended to be incorporated in a purifier of gas, such as air, furthermore comprising a system for illuminating said media with UV radiation. The media exhibits an excellent purification efficiency and a very low pressure drop.

  • Patent number: 8128869
Abstract: An air sanitization system including a reactive oxygen species generator, a variable speed fan, a pathogen sensor and a controller. The reactive oxygen species generator generates reactive oxygen species from an oxygen-containing gas and discharges the reactive oxygen species to a conditioned space. The variable speed fan directs the oxygen-containing gas to the reactive oxygen species generator at a controlled speed. The pathogen sensor senses a level of airborne pathogens in the conditioned space and generates a signal indicative of the level of pathogens sensed. The controller receives the signal from the pathogen sensor and varies the speed of the variable speed fan in response to the signal to decrease a speed of the variable speed fan in response to an increase in the level of airborne pathogens sensed by the pathogen sensor.

Abstract: An air purification system for a structure includes a first radiation source for generating UV-B and/or UV-C radiation and having an imaginary horizontal plane intersecting with the center of the first radiation source. The system further includes a first screen facing the first radiation source for preventing UV radiation generated by the first radiation source from radiating directly outward from the air purification system into a space below the imaginary horizontal plane. A second screen, facing the first radiation source as well as the first screen, is adjustable with respect to the first radiation source and is at least partially coated with a photo-catalytic material at a surface facing the first radiation source.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for sanitizing, decontaminating, deodorizing, conditioning, drying, treating, cleaning, modifying and/or otherwise improving an atmosphere within a container. The container can be a bag or other housing for equipment, food and/or suitable material. Ozone is generated within an atmosphere that is exposed to the materials. The generated ozone is mixed with the atmosphere. At least a portion of the generated ozone is then removed from the mixed atmosphere. The apparatus and method of this invention can be used to treat contaminated sports equipment and the like, as well as to treat food storage atmospheres, such as those exposed to fresh fruits and vegetables.
