  • Patent number: 9784284
Abstract: A stator element for a Holweck pump stage has a base shape of substantially cylinder jacket shape or a kit of parts for a stator element for a Holweck pump stage which has a base shape of a substantially cylinder jacket shape, wherein the stator element or the kit of parts comprises a plurality of stator parts which are separate from one another, which are assembled to form the stator element or can be assembled to form the stator element. A vacuum pump having a Holweck pump stage as well as to a method of manufacturing a stator element for a Holweck pump stage or of manufacturing a kit of parts for a stator element for a Holweck pump stage are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7579056
Abstract: Hydrophobic coating compositions are provided as are processes to coat articles with the compositions. Extremely hydrophobic coatings are provided by the compositions. Durable, weatherable and scratch-resistant coatings are provided by compositions comprising a fluorinated component and an adhesion promoter compound. The adhesion promoter compound can include an alkoxy group, a furfuryl-containing ring structure, and a reactive group.

  • Patent number: 7182915
Abstract: The present application is directed to pipette configurations, arrays of the same and methods for using such pipettes and arrays to accomplish electrical measurements, including whole cell and on cell measurements. In one aspect of the present invention, a pipette includes a hollow tubular section having a distal portion and a tip portion. A bubble is formed at the tip and includes an interior chamber in communication with the hollow tubular section at an end adjacent to the bubble portion. The bubble may have a diameter greater than the diameter of an adjacent portion of the hollow tubular section. An aperture is formed between the internal chamber and an exterior surface of the bubble to accommodate seal formation.

  • Patent number: 5853894
Abstract: Laboratory vessels are coated on an operational surface thereof with a hydrophobic coating polymer or reactive monomer to form a coating having an exposed surface populated with 30% by area or more terminal trifluoromethyl groups. Laboratory vessels coated with such coating solutions are provided having extremely low surface energies and high resistance to solvent attack. Methods of forming hydrophobic coatings on laboratory vessels are also provided and include methods of forming exposed coating surfaces having populations of from about 30% by area to 100% by area trifluoromethyl groups. The hydrophobic coatings may be prepared from solutions, suspensions or powdered materials containing a fluoroalkyl ethylenically unsaturated monomer substantially free of any crosslinking, having from about 3 to about 20 carbon atoms, and containing at least one terminal trifluoromethyl group, or containing a polymerization product of such a monomer.
