The invention also relates to a cosmetic process for treating keratin materials using the composition according to the invention, and also to a use of this composition as a shampoo.

In use, the composition is applied to hair dyed with an acid-dye-type hair dye composition; and then the hair is left to stand for 5-30 minutes at 20-60° C., followed by washing.

The mercaptoacetamides provide gentle and uniform shaping of hair in a pH range of 4.5 to 9.5 and do not cause allergic or sensitizing reactions.
