  • Patent number: 6235277
Abstract: Deodorant granulate for lining ashtrays for receiving tobacco ash, including an active component. The active component includes perfume which is one of aromatic and suitable for use on the human body, high viscosity solvent with low evaporation, and undecylenic acid deodorant. The active component is incorporated into non-inflammable mineral granulates whose granularity is selected so as not to leave any trace of dust when used, and has a porosity that enables the mineral granulate to absorb at least 15 wt % of the active component, and to release the active component upon contact with a lit cigarette or cigar. Method for lining ashtrays.

  • Patent number: 6200581
Abstract: Three-dimensional silicone elastomers having both polyether and higher alkyl functionality present in their molecules are in the form of networks of crosslinked linear siloxanes with polyether and olefin containing repeating units. Representative units are EO7 and EO12 for the polyether functionality, and C10, C12, and C18 alkyl functionality for the olefin. These gelled molecules are multipurpose type materials, and consequently they are capable of being useful in a variety of multiphased formulations in personal and health care applications.

  • Patent number: 6200555
Abstract: The present invention relates to a deodorant composition capable of removing an odor component such as a carbonyl group-containing compound with high efficiency. The composition includes a deodorizing compound which itself creates no problem of odor and corrosion. The present invention also relates to a deodorizer and filter containing the composition which are compact in size and can remove the odor component in a simple manner, and a method of deodorization using the composition. The deodorant composition includes the compound reactive with the odor component in the presence of moisture, and a water-absorbing substance. The odor component is a carbonyl group-containing compound. The deodorizing compound reactive with the odor component is at least one selected from the group consisting of monohydric phenols, polyhydric phenols, and derivatives thereof, and among them, resorcin is preferable.

  • Patent number: 6177069
Abstract: A laminated deodorant filter medium is constituted by a plurality of laminate units laminated together; each of which includes a fiber web constituted by a connecting portion and a resin-aggregating portion, both of which are made of a hotmelt resin, and a deodorant particle firmly attached to one surface of the fiber web by way of the resin-aggregating portion. Employable as the deodorant particle is at least two kinds of deodorant particles including an acidic odor deodorant particle, an alkaline odor deodorant particle, and a physically adsorbing particle. As the resin-aggregating portion is formed at a part where a hotmelt nonwoven fabric and the deodorant particle are in contact with each other, the deodorant particle can be firmly attached to the fiber web as a single layer without using a binder, whereby a deodorant filter medium having a low pressure loss and high efficiency can be obtained.
