  • Patent number: 8043540
Abstract: A method and a device for feeding a molten resin capable of accurately feeding the molten resin without the delay of feed timing by preventing the molten resin from adhering to route members before it seats on a mold to increase the positioning accuracy of the molten metal in the mold, and a method of manufacturing a molded part by using the fed molten resin. Vibration is provided to the route members such as molten resin guide pins (10, 40, 50), throat members (62, 70, 85), and female mold positioned in a route in which the molten resin (25) passes before it seats on the female mold (7, 63) by a vibration imparting device (27) or a gas layer film is formed on the surfaces thereof. Thus, the molten resin can be fed while preventing it from adhering to the route members.

  • Patent number: 5980802
Abstract: A method for treating a roller cover includes the steps of positioning an element with respect to a roller cover and removing a portion of the roller cover with said element to form a pattern on said roller cover. The process for treating roller covers for a paint roller may also includes the steps of providing a surface, forming a pattern on the surface, heating the surface, and contacting the roller cover with the heated surface. The heated surface is a metal. The heat is transferred from the heated metal surface to the roller cover when the heated metal surface contacts the roller cover. The heated surface sears or melts the nap of the roller cover. The surface can be provided with a pattern so that a pattern can be placed into the nap of the roller cover. An apparatus used to treat the surface of a roller cover includes a surface having a desired pattern therein. A holder for a roller cover holds or presents the roller cover to the surface. A heater is attached to the surface.

  • Patent number: 5044914
Abstract: A food scoop is disclosed which disposes a temperature sensor in or on a spoon portion (which includes a handle), which is utilized for the scooping operation. The temperature sensor includes a counting mechanism that records the temperature changes of the spoon and uses them as a counting impulse. Most foods, whether such foods be ice cream or heated selections, have sharp temperature gradients which are counted and recorded by the scoop portion of the invention. The number of temperature changes counted by the counting mechanism equals the number of portions of a particular food which have been served.
