Abstract: A process for molding a cheese piece of a desired shape comprises filling a mold having a hollow interior of the desired shape with softened, uncured cheese, cooling the mold to harden and partially cure the cheese, and then opening the mold to release the cheese piece under the surface of a cold brine so that the fluid pressure of the brine prevents the shape of the partially cured cheese piece from being distorted. An apparatus for automatically performing the described method is disclosed.
Abstract: This invention relates to the production of tubular articles, made from synthetic thermoplastic materials, which resemble wood, rattan, bamboo, cane, reed, wicker, reed, rush, and similar natural materials, and also to the production of furniture, structures, and every kind of ornament in general employing thermoplastic materials which replace the natural materials mentioned above, coloring and veining such thermoplastic materials, and also joining and securing by means of ties made from rigid, semi-rigid or plastified polyvinyl the natural and artificial materials above mentioned, for the purpose of assembling furniture and structures in general.
Abstract: Articulated mold for the manufacture of molded objects having opposed undercut parts comprises two dies whose parting surface passes between the opposed undercut parts of the molded object. In each die there are provided shells composed of segments which can be displaced by pushers in order to open the mold and eject the molded object.

Abstract: A mold composed of two half-molds arranged to undergo pivotal movement into a mold closing position, for molding an article having a reentrant portion extending to both sides of the plane of closure of the half-molds, is also arranged so that during pivotal movement out of the mold closing position one of the half-molds undergoes translational movement parallel to the plane of closure in order to release the reentrant portion of the article from the mold cavity.
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for molding ceramic cores and patterns to be used for investment casting of blades or vanes for a jet engine, turbine or the like, and having shapes to provide a strong structure with internal passages permitting the flow of a cooling medium. This invention provides a mold having upper and lower mold portions having parting lines in a general horizontal direction. The molded shapes have formations whose surfaces require molding shapes which require withdrawal in lines normal with such surfaces. Such formations described herein relate to the forming of internal passages in the completed blade structure to permit the flow of a cooling medium. The present invention provides pairs of core-forming blocks movably mounted in the upper and lower mold portions and so constructed that after a shape is formed, the blocks may be withdrawn in lines normal with the formed surfaces.
Abstract: Molten coke forming material is processed by infeed through sealing gates to an elongated housing within which it is mixed, cooled and compacted into a solid mass. When sufficiently hardened, the compacted mass is expelled from the housing. A gas may be injected into that zone of the housing within which the material undergoes mixing while in a molten state.
Abstract: Improvements in three-piece concrete pipe molds and means and devices for handling and transporting such molds both when filled and empty; improvements in mold handling apparatus, or devices attachable both to the lift mechanism of a vehicle and a three-piece pipe mold and useable for such purposes; a versatile adaptor which will handle and transport, in its various configurations, concrete pipe molds of the most varied sizes and configurations when mounted on the lift mechanism of a vehicle.
Abstract: An improved molding apparatus which includes a lower mold part containing a seat to permit a wheel to be locked thereon to form a mold cavity between the upper surface of the lower mold part and under surface of the wheel, said wheel having openings therein including at least openings for mounting the wheel on an axle and for charging the cavity with molding material, a sealing means for sealing the openings in the wheel, said sealing means being pivotable about the lower mold part by a pivot frame to bring the sealing means into a locked sealing relationship through an elastomeric gasket, said gasket in the locked sealing relationship being under uniform compression, said uniform compression being achieved by action of at least three springs located around the seal means and between the pivot frame.

Abstract: Disclosed is a device for making panels, such as wall panels, particularly of the type having metallic skins with a foam insulation therebetween. A movable carriage supports temperature controlled mold platens which can carry the skin material and which swing about a common axis to open and close. The carriage is positioned under a moving nozzle assembly which dispenses the insulation material between the skins. Means are provided to form male and female ends for the panels for interlock with other panels. In addition, means are provided so that the apparatus can be readily adjusted to form panels of varying widths.
