  • Patent number: 10118355
Abstract: The present invention increases tire formation precision and is a tire manufacturing method, which comprises a step S1 for forming a green tire on the outer surface of a rigid inner mold and a vulcanization step S2 for vulcanizing the green tire. The rigid inner mold comprises: an inner mold body, which is obtained from multiple segments; a core, which substantially binds the various segments; and an outer diameter adjusting means for changing the outer diameter of the core by changing the temperature of the core. Moreover. the rigid inner mold performs changes such that by expansion of the outer diameter of the core 5, the various segments move outward in the radial direction of the tire and gaps between the segments are enlarged, while by reducing the outer diameter of the core, the various segments move inward in the radial direction of the tire and the level differences R on the outer surface between adjacent segments increase.

  • Patent number: 4527946
Abstract: A pop-up, rotating nozzle in a tire curing press provides for dispersed and uniform introduction of fluid media into the upper containment portion of a curing and shaping bladder during tire cure and cooling, and yet allows for relatively close spacing of upper and lower bladder clamps such as during bladder insertion and stripping operations. The nozzle has an outlet head in communication with the interior of the bladder and a supply stem mounted in a lower bladder clamp and porting assembly of the press for both axial and rotational movement. The nozzle is movable against a spring biasing force by the upper bladder clamp to a lowermost retracted position which allows the bladder clamps to be axially spaced apart a distance substantially less than their axial spacing during cure.

  • Patent number: 4184822
Abstract: The apparatus utilizes a mandrel in a substantially ring or cylindrical shape about which is disposed inwardly pressure supplying means, an annular cavity disposed between the mandrel and pressure means, and means for supplying heat to the mandrel to initiate its thermal growth during curing of the belting. The metal of the mandrel has a high coefficient of thermal expansion which during use applies radial outward pressure against the belt body being cured.
