    Abstract: The invention relates generally to cast metal molds that are used in the manufacture of polymer parts, and more specifically, to methods tier sealing cast metal molds used in the manufacture of polymer parts. One embodiment of the present technique relates to a cast metal mold having a sealant disposed within the pores on the surface of a mold cavity such that the sealant is configured to seal the surface of the mold cavity to produce a sealed surface. The sealed surface is blocked from absorbing or releasing gases during the production of a polymer part. The mold further includes a surface coating to facilitate the release of a product from the mold cavity. The surface coating includes a fluoropolymer base layer, which configured to adhere to the sealed surface of the mold cavity.

The cured concrete roof tiles (T) are de-moulded after curing and conveyed to a surface preparation zone where a primer coat of a water based epoxy and a surface coating of a water based emulsion paint are applied to at least an upper surface (in use) of the cast concrete roof tiles (T). The admixed cementitious composition has a Ford Cup flow of between 40 and 60 seconds and a slump test of between 180 and 220 mm.

Only a small number of air flow channels can pass above the air flow opening at a single time and this serves to keep low pressure in the vacuum box. In addition, a vortex gate is provided in the duct between the fan housing and the vacuum box and serves to restrict air flow through the duct when the pressure within the duct drops below a certain level.

    Abstract: An assembly line method of construction is applied to the making of the thin fiber reinforced shell that forms the external surface of the Fibrestone wall. An elongated endless movable belt has the desired recurring pattern to be applied as the external surface of the fiber reinforced shell. Spray guns movable transversely of the elongated belt are provided to spray concrete and chopped up reinforcing fibers on the belt to form a continuous Fibrestone panel strip as the belt moves past the spray guns. A plurality of elongated flex-ties mounted on suitable supports and each having one of their ends adapted to be secured to the upper surface of the fiber reinforced shell are dropped onto the spray formed shell while it is in the plastic or uncured state. To insure that the flex-ties are securely bonded additional concrete and chopped up fibers are sprayed on the flex-tie supports, and the area between the rows of flex-ties are rolled to provide a relatively smooth surface between the rows of flex-ties.

    Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for continuous distribution of a latex or urethane foam composition on a movable substrate to produce a foamed sheet material such as a foam backed carpet. The distribution surface of each of these distribution means may differ and may be either smooth or patterned with a variety of grooves or serrations thereby providing means for producing foamed sheet materials with surfaces which are either planar or patterned with ridges and valleys. Means are also provided to readily change the thickness of the distributed foam and for oscillating the distribution apparatus to produce a surface with wavy as opposed to linear patterns of ridges and valleys. All of these operations may be accomplished without interrupting the continuous process.

As the roller is rotated the dough plugs are squeezed through a gap between the roller and the lower edge of the deflection plate to take on the characteristic form of gnocchi. A flouring mechanism is provided to flour the parts of the machine that come into contact with the dough, including the ramp and a rotating knife blade which cuts the extruded dough into the plugs. The roller is threaded from both ends with opposing threads so that the plugs are urged towards the center of the roller as it is rotated.

Impermeable coatings are added to the outer surfaces of the superposed layers and the assembly is then cut into piles of tiles which can then be delivered into an oven for baking, the heat ensuring removal of the impermeable coating and the separation powder product.
