Molding Plant(s) Patents (Class 425/DIG200)
  • Patent number: 5879723
Abstract: A tube reforming apparatus provides efficient mass production of reformed tube end portions. In a preferred embodiment, a tube reforming apparatus has a loading station, two heating stations, a forming station, and an unloading station. The loading station permits rapid loading of a series of laterally spaced apart tubes into clamping fixtures, and accurately meters a downwardly extending end portion of each tube. The heating stations permit accurate and evenly distributed heat to be applied to the end portions to make them pliable. The forming station reforms the end portions between a mating die pair, while compensating for any volume variation in the end portions. The unloading station automatically unloads the tubes from the clamping fixtures. Automation features of the apparatus permit these operations to be efficiently accomplished.

  • Patent number: 5591464
Abstract: A molding plant for conveying molds, preferably molds for chocolates or similar products. A drive shaft, which includes conveying screws mounted on a shaft, conveys the molds along a processing path through stations in the plant. The underside of each mold has downwardly projecting studs or projections that engage between threads of the conveying screws. The studs are arranged such that the molds can be conveyed along at least two different, transverse processing paths. Preferably, the studs are positioned such that the engagement between the studs and the screws is along a midline of the molds.

  • Patent number: 4931006
Abstract: In an installation for producing packaging containers such as tubes, from prefabricated tube bodies and end portions of thermoplastic material, which are connected to the tube bodies, a plurality of moulds which are moved on a circulatory path each include an upwardly directed female mould portion and a mandrel which is pivotable about a horizontal axis between a downwardly directed working position and a loading position. A tube body loading station, a material feed station having a nozzle, and a container unloading station are arranged at spacings from each other along the circulatory path, while the female mould portion and the mandrel of each mould are displaced relative to each other on a common working axis. In a plurality of working units including support frames which are moved on the circulatory path, each support frame supports at least the female mould portion and the mandrel of a mould and the actuating mechanism thereof.

  • Patent number: 4681523
Abstract: Particulate mats are transported from the downstream end of an upstream conveyor normally moving continuously in a longitudinal transport direction at a predetermined relatively slow speed to a press downstream in the direction from the upstream conveyor that receives the mats and presses them into hard panels by supporting the mats between the upstream conveyor and the press on a downstream conveyor having an upstream end spaced downstream from the downstream end and a downstream end at the press and an intermediate conveyor extending between the upstream end of the downstream conveyor and the downstream end of the upstream conveyor and having a length in the direction at least equal to that of each of the mats in the direction. A carriage supporting the downstream end of the upstream conveyor, the intermediate conveyor, and the upstream end of the downstream conveyor is reciprocated in the direction at a frequency related to mat size and speed.

  • Patent number: 4412801
Abstract: A pressed-board plant having a multi-level press for the pressing of mats of comminuted or fiber material, with or without added binder, to form pressed board, for the lamination of finishing layers to substrates and wherever multi-level presses are applicable, has a multi-level emptying rack adapted to receive the pressed articles on respective press underlays (press trays or sheets). According to the invention, a storage rack for the press underlays is provided with the levels of the storage rack spaced at levels substantially corresponding to those of the press platens in the open condition of the press and from which the underlays are introduced into the press. The storage levels are interspaced with the levels of the emptying rack.

  • Patent number: 4075301
Abstract: A method and apparatus of depositing material into a moving receptacle is disclosed. A traveling discharge device moves across a receptacle while discharging material into the receptacle. The discharge device uses the receptacle itself as its frame of reference and thus can compensate for imperfections in both the speed and the path of the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 3994656
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for forming generally tubular pipe covering sections with overlapping edge portions from a sheet of elastomeric material. For relatively thin material thicknesses the material is rolled on a male mandrel to provide a plurality of spiral wraps and this roll is heated to a selected temperature between 120.degree. F and 150.degree. F for at least 12 hours to effect a set in the roll. Selected lengths of the sheet material are cut from the roll to provide tubular pipe covering sections of a selected circumferential size. For relatively thick material thicknesses with substantial rigidity, a continuous roll of the material is cut transversely along its length to form a series of blanks. The length of the blank is established by the width of the roll and the width of the blank is selected according to the diameter of the pipe or insulated pipe to be covered.
