United Parts Patents (Class 425/DIG59)
  • Patent number: 4655473
Abstract: A process of manufacturing a composite ski, particularly a laminated ski. The constituent parts of the ski are placed into an evacuable mold, which during or after its evacuation is supplied with a binder, which is preferably liquid and fills the pores of the constituent parts and the cavities between the constituent parts.

  • Patent number: 4634140
Abstract: A process of manufacturing a ski, particularly a laminated ski, which is composed of a plurality of components, and a ski manufactured by that process. In the process, the components of the ski are placed into a mold, which is adapted to be evacuated, and the mold is subsequently evacuated. A liquid binder, such as a liquid resin, is supplied to the mold during or after its evacuation. Air is sucked from the mold at one end of the longitudinal extent of the ski. The liquid binder is supplied to the mold at the other end of the longitudinal extent of the ski. In the finished ski a strip of solidified binder extends in at least one vertical or horizontal longitudinal plane of the ski, preferably in a central longitudinal plane of the ski, over at least part of the length and preferably over at least one half of the length of the ski.

  • Patent number: 4280976
Abstract: A simultaneously molded threaded port and plug may be produced by a mold which comprises a first cavity for receiving molding compound to form a wall, a second cavity for receiving molding compound to form the threaded plug, and rotatable shaft means carrying external thread forming grooves and extending through the first cavity to define the threaded port. The shaft means terminates at the second cavity, with an end portion of the shaft being shaped to form a separable mechanical linkage between the end portion and the plug molded in the second cavity means. The shaft is rotated after molding to withdraw it from the molded, threaded port, and to rotate the molded, threaded plug into the threaded port for sealing thereof.

  • Patent number: 4265850
Abstract: The invention relates to the production of spectacle frame parts of synthetic material and in particular to the moulding of spectacle frame faces of synthetic material, for example, of polyurethane. The faces are moulded between two casting half-moulds each comprising a plate having an impression on one surface thereof. Each plate has a substantially equal thickness at every point and is made of a polyolefine. Use of such half-moulds enables the faces of spectacle frames to be directly moulded into their final shape.

  • Patent number: 4210620
Abstract: The following specification describes a paint can mold in which a pair of concentric ring members and cores at diametrically opposed positions create concentric mold cavities for forming projecting bushings on the pail, each having a concentric handle bearing. The plastic for forming each bearing and a handle interconnecting the bearings passes through a gate in each ring member. Withdrawal of the ring member severs the plastic in the gate from between the bushing and bearing so that the handle is free to rotate on the bushings. Means are provided to prevent disassembly of the handle from the can.

  • Patent number: 4165061
Abstract: A molding unit for forming a frozen liquid confection and the like comprising a container of molded or a plastic material and integrally molded with a ring-like member, which ring-like member is readily severable from the container and positioned between posts or pins on the container so that a portion of the ring-like member extends into the container to be frozen into and embedded in the frozen product with a portion of the ring-like member extending exteriorly so that it may be grasped and used as a handle to hold the finished frozen product.
