Patent number: 6428867Abstract: A resealable label flap for use with a product package including a tamper indicating tab that remains in contact with the package body to indicate that the label flap has been removed from the package body. The tamper indicating tab includes a first ink layer that defines an indicia or pattern on the top surface of the tamper indicating tab. A second ink layer is applied over the entire top surface of the tamper indicating tab, including over the first ink layer. The second ink layer does not bond to the first ink layer. When the label flap is initially pulled from the product package, the tamper indicating tab separates from the remaining portions of the label flap. As the tamper indicating tab separates from the label flap, the first ink layer and the second ink layer separate from each other such that the portions of the second ink layer applied over the first ink layer remain in contact with the top layer of the label flap.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1999Date of Patent: August 6, 2002Assignee: Prime Label & Screen, Inc.Inventors: Barry M. Publication number: 20020084021Abstract: There is provided an adhesive article including (a) a radiation curable adhesive layer comprising an acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive and, optionally, an acrylated urethane polymer; and (b) a transparent carrier layer. The adhesive article may contain a radiation curable epoxy layer between the radiation curable adhesive layer and the transparent carrier layer. This adhesive article is particularly useful in preparing protective coatings on color filters for use in a liquid-crystal display panel structure. The radiation curable epoxy layer and radiation curable pressure sensitive adhesive are applied to the color filter and then exposed to UV radiation The UV radiation exposure transforms the pressure sensitive adhesive from a removable adhesive to a permanent adhesive. The color filter with the UV cured adhesive layer is then baked to fully cure the adhesive layer and to transform the adhesive further into a near structural adhesive.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2001Publication date: July 4, 2002Inventors: Daniel L. Patent number: 6268032Abstract: A web of sheet material has a plurality of longitudinal rows of indicia patterns printed on a front face thereon, with the indicia patterns all aligned on the web in common readability orientation. On its back face, the web has a plurality of longitudinally disposed patterns of repositionable pressure sensitive adhesive thereon, with the adhesive patterns being oriented in registration with the rows of indicia patterns. Longitudinal severing of the web thus results in a plurality of identical web strips. Patent number: 6221453Abstract: A fluorescent label can be used to identify the location of variations, e.g. radial variations, in a pneumatic tire so the tire can be precisely mixed and matched with other components such as tire rims which may have compensating variations. The fluorescent label desirably includes a release backing, a pressure sensitive adhesive to bind said label to a tire, a nontransparent face sheet that reflects a substantial portion of incident light back towards its source, transparent top layer which contains one or more fluorescent dye(s) disproportionately present in the surface portion of the layer and preferably in the layer nearest the adhesive side. The location of the largest portion of the fluorescent dye is important as commercial labels with the dye on the exterior surface suffer from fluorescent reading losses apparently due to migration of mobile molecules from other tires stored in contact with the label's exterior surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1999Date of Patent: April 24, 2001Assignee: The Goodyear Tire & Rubber CompanyInventor: Ramendra Nath Majumdar
