The first side (102) of the vinyl film (100) is adhered to the adhesive layer (34) of the sticker (30). The second side (104) of the vinyl film (100) is applied to a receiving surface (12) and held against the surface (12) by the low-tack adhesive (106) wherein the vinyl film (100) and the sticker (30) are releasably adhered to the receiving surface (12) and wherein the indicia-bearing sticker (30) is displayed for viewing. In one embodiment, the sticker (30) is a vehicle windshield sticker and the receiving surface (12) is a vehicle windshield.

The film structure includes a core layer and first skin layer, wherein the first skin layer contains a polymeric matrix of a material that allows a label, which has been produced from the film structure and applied onto a container or product, to be removed from the container or product by the solution employed in a process for re-using the container. The first skin layer is co-extruded along with the remainder of the layers of the film structure, or the first skin layer is deposited on the film structure as an emulsion or extrusion coating. The first skin layer can be contacted with a water-based adhesive to affix the label onto a particular product or product container. Labels produced from the film structure exhibit a desirable combination of excellent initial adhesion strength, moisture resistance and delaminatability, as well as excellent removability.

Permanent adhesive is disposed on the trailing edge of the rotatable label's back surface. The rotatable label is then wrapped around the container so that the trailing edge of the rotatable label's back surface comes in contact with the rotatable label's front surface. The rotatable label is then rotated with respect to the inner label or container, thereby breaking the temporary bond formed by the temporary adhesive between the rotatable label and inner label or container. Alternatively, temporary adhesive may be disposed on the trailing edge of the rotatable label's back surface to allow the rotatable label to be easily removed from the container.

These materials, prior to photoexposure, can withstand temperatures in the range of approximately 200° C. to 300° C. without decomposition, yet decompose at around 100° C. with photoexposure. The releasable adhesion layer can be used in a thermal transfer element, sandwiching a donor substrate and a transfer layer having a plurality of multicomponent transfer units. In the absence of light, the releasable adhesion layer can sustain high temperature processing of these multicomponent transfer units. By photoexposing according to a pattern, the photoexposed multicomponent transfer units can be selectively released at a low temperature to transfer to a receptor.

The cohesive bond between the first side of the mask layer and the adhesive is grater than the cohesive bond between the second side of the mask layer and its adjacent layer, whereby attempted removal of the label results in separation of the mask layer, which remains attached to the container, and masks the adhesive.

The hologram laminate has a metal thin-film layer, a release pattern, a transparent film, a hologram layer and a surface protective layer laminated on an adherend in the order mentioned. The hologram laminate is separable between the adherend and the transparent film. When the hologram is separated, the metal thin-film layer is left on the adherend in a pattern corresponding to the release pattern. The hologram label has a release sheet in place of the adherend in the hologram laminate.

When the printing medium is delivered from roll 15, adhesive layer 13 does not remain on the roll 15 side even if adhesive layer 13 has a low adhesive power because the adhesion between adhesive layer 13 and primer layer 12 is strong while the adhesion between adhesive layer 13 and base film 11 in roll 15 is weak. The printing medium can be run in a printer without using a release film because adhesive layer 13 has a low adhesive power.

    Abstract: A flexible package has a dispensing opening with a closure label overlying the opening that is permanently attached to the package by heat sealing along an edge portion adjacent the dispensing opening. The label has a releasable adhesive on the underside of the remaining portion for selectively opening and resealing the dispensing opening. The package is formed from a film that is partially die cut to form the dispensing opening. The label with the releasable adhesive is then applied to the package over the dispensing opening and heat sealed along an edge portion of the film. The film and attached label are later folded to form an envelope, filled with dispensable product, and heat sealed to encapsulate the product. The label can be selectively opened and resealed to enable access to the product through the dispensing opening. Complete removal of the label is prevented by the heat-sealed edge portion.
