    Abstract: The invention comprises a novel design for a label which can be applied to the edge of a folder, card, or other substrate. A paper face stock secured to a flexible film coating and having a pressure sensitive adhesive is provided with a plurality of cuts in parallel array. The cuts allow the label to be applied to a substrate having a substantial thickness without resulting in the wrinkling which would normally occur absent the cuts. A process for cutting the face stock consists of the use of a cutting disk having a plurality of edges. Substrates having a variety of thicknesses can be accommodated.

    Abstract: A binding strip for binding a stack of sheets together in a book-like fashion. The binder strip includes an elongated substrate made of a formable material such as a strip of heavy paper. A relatively wide band of heat-activated adhesive extends down the center of the substrate. Two relatively narrow bands of heat-activated adhesive are disposed on opposite sides of the central adhesive band. The central adhesive band, which has a low viscosity at the application temperature, serves to bind the edges of the sheets together and to the substrate. The side adhesive bands, which are at least one-half as thick as the central adhesive band and which have a high viscosity at the application temperature, functions to secure the first and last sheets of the stack to the substrate. The first and last sheets serve as the cover sheets of the bound volume. The side adhesive bands also function to contain the low viscosity central adhesive during the binding process.

    Abstract: A prefabricated structural element and a method of bonding wallboard to structural elements such as trusses for use in construction or prefabrication of ceilings or walls. The method involves applying a resilient polyurethane foamable liquid by a high pressure impingement mixing spray gun onto areas of a clean, dry wallboard substrate which have wood trusses or studs placed upon them. The foam is sprayed on the drywall at the juncture with the wood members on both sides of the wooden members. The resulting bonded structure permits the unit to be used without further nailing or other attachment means. The foam also permits the combined product to present a flat surface regardless of irregularities in the wood trusses.
