    Abstract: The present invention provides a secondary battery including stacks that are hermetically enclosed in a battery can with a bottom, each stack having an alternate arrangement of a metallic current collector having a negative electrode active material layer formed on a surface thereof, a separator that retains an electrolyte, and another metallic current collector having a positive electrode active material layer formed on a surface thereof, all of which are in strip form. In the secondary battery, at least one partition plate, which splits an internal space of the battery can at a position opposite wider-side faces of the stacks, is formed between the stacks housed in the battery can.
