    Abstract: An electrical connection device includes a housing with a tubular cavity and a contact having a first portion and a second portion. The first portion has a cylindrical first external surface oriented about a longitudinal axis and is inserted into the tubular cavity of the housing. The second portion extends outside the tubular cavity and has an orientation zone with a second external surface that is partially, but not completely, cylindrical about the longitudinal axis. The electrical connection device further includes an anti-rotation device, displaceable in translation up to a final position, and having a first surface complementary to the second external surface of the orientation zone and abutting thereon when the anti-rotation device is in the final position and the contact is oriented in an operating position. A method of mounting such an electrical connection device is also provided.

Two shots of plastic may be incorporated into the battery protection structures to provide both puncture resistance and the ability to stretch during use.

    Abstract: The sealed type lead acid battery according to the invention comprises a battery case having an upper wall provided with an inner surface and an outer surface (pierced with holes) in which an electrolytic solution and electrodes are received, an annular protrusion provided on the inner surface of the upper wall surrounding the holes, a pole connected to the electrodes and disposed beneath the holes, a male thread member having one end embedded in the pole and the other end protruding from the pole to extend from the interior of the battery case to the exterior of the battery case through the hole, and a female thread member engaged with the male thread at the portion thereof protruding from the upper wall. In this arrangement, the female thread member is tightened so that the annular protrusion bites into the upper surface of the pole.

The insulating seal member is in engagement with the can and the flange of the electrode terminal member and nonrotatable relative to the cell can and the flange, whereby the electrode terminal member is prevented from rotating with the nut when the electrode terminal assembly is fixed to the lid.

    Abstract: A cell module structure comprises a bus bar plate and plural cylindrical cells. The cell includes a positive cell terminal and a negative cell terminal coaxially aligned at an end thereof, and a screw formed in the terminal having the same polarity as that of the bus bar terminal which is formed with the screw to which the above screw is screwed. The screw of the cell is screwed to the screw of the bus bar, so that different terminals with no screw are brought into contact with each other, whereby the plural cells are serially connected.

    Abstract: An expandable, flexible connection between a battery cell case cover and a terminal is provided which compensates for expansions of plates or grids of one polarity connected to that terminal. The expandable design encompasses a flexible battery case which facilitates movement of the battery terminal without compromising the scal between the case and the terminal. Preferably, a tubular thermoplastic sleeve is formed integrally with the case cover and extends into an opening between the cover and a terminal bushing which supports battery plates of one polarity. An annular flexible thermoplastic connector connects the sleeve to the case or to the bushing, with the connector being thinner than the case cover to afford more flexibility than the case cover.

    Abstract: An alloy for casting terminals for lead-acid batteries which has good corrosion resistance, produces less dross during manufacturing, has resistance to polypropylene degradation, as well as other improved features. The alloy is composed of antimony present in the range of about 2.5-4.75%; arsenic present in the range of about 0.15-0.35%; tin present in the range of about 0.2-0.6%; copper present in the range of about 0- 200 ppm; sulfur present in the range of about 0-40 ppm and the balance lead. In an alternative embodiment, copper and sulfur are replaced with selenium in the range of about 40-90 ppm.

A grounding device connects a ground conductor of the electronic device to the EMI protection layer. The grounding device comprises a ground element having teeth on one side. A screwthread arrangement extends through the container wall and clamps the ground element onto the wall with the teeth cutting into the EMI protection layer to be in electrical contact therewith. The ground conductor is electrically connected to the screwthread arrangement.
