With Line Propelling Or Trajecting Means Patents (Class 43/19)
  • Patent number: 11672239
Abstract: Fishing tackle casting device mounts to fishing rod for casting fishing lure including housing having a groove, and a trigger mechanism including a U-shaped rod. The fishing tackle casting device mounts to the handle or fishing pole of the fishing rod. The fishing rod includes a line reel having line drawn from a line reel along the fishing pole. Line includes a fishing lure that locks to U-shaped rod through a groove causing the fishing pole to bend and store energy. The fishing pole may direct toward targeted area and the trigger mechanism actuation releases the fishing lure from U-shaped rod through the groove causing tension release of bent fishing pole, making fishing lure and line travel to targeted area. The trigger mechanism includes trigger support mechanism for connecting line from the line reel and helps control speed/release of tension on the line when the fishing lure is cast.

  • Patent number: 8590204
Abstract: The fishing rod with casting mechanism enables an angler to cast a lure or the like by cocking or arming the mechanism and pressing the release. The device includes a central stock having a lower brace and upper tubular member spaced apart from the lower brace, with forward and rearward plates connecting the brace and tube. A spinning reel is installed between the lower brace and upper tube. A coil compression spring and a plurality of elastic tensile members in tandem therewith is installed in the upper tubular member. A telescoping rod extends from the forward plate, and a handle extends from the rear plate. The mechanism propels a projectile (lure, sinker, float, etc.) and tackle (hook, lure, etc.) when the compressed spring and extended elastic bands are released. This allows the angler more accurate casting as well as aiding him when casting from beneath trees or in dense underbrush. The first version of the present invention is basically a spring loaded fishing rod wherein the top portion of the rod slides into the lower portion of the rod, compressing a spring which propels the lure in the desired direction when the tension is released. The second version of the present invention can be added on to an existing rod and features a spring loaded cartridge with two eye hooks which is suspended from the last two eyes on the existing rod. The end eye slides along the cartridge to compress the enclosed spring. First and second elongate hollow tubes having open ends are disposed with the open end of one of the tubes extending telescopically into the open end of the other tube. An open container is disposed on the second hollow tube for holding the end of the flexible line therein. A spring member resides within the tubes and extends through telescopically overlapping sections of the tubes. A user inserts the end of a fishing line into the open container with a lure or bait attached to the end of the line, pulls the second tube backwardly against the spring member and releases the second tube, thereby permitting the spring member to thrust and second tube forwardly and launch the end of the line through the air.

  • Patent number: 5695139
Abstract: A wheel, journalled on supports atop the reel housing has a slot formed therein. Limbs attached to both the wheel, and the reel thumb actuator, cause the wheel to rotate in common with depression of the actuator, and dispose the slot rearwardly. The slot latchingly receives the hook of a lure, with the fishing rod bent into an energy-stored, strained disposition. With release of the thumb actuator, the lure flies outwardly in a substantially flat trajectory. Also, the cone is only slidably coupled to the reel housing, so that line will not be released until the cone, biasingly held to the housing, returns into full engagement with the housing.

  • Patent number: 5689909
Abstract: A fishing bobber comprises a water tight air chamber having an guide tube passing therethrough. A slide tube slides back and forth within the guide tube. A housing extends downwardly from the air chamber, and the housing has an open bottom end. The lower end of an elongate slide tube is attached to a circular reel member that has a recessed groove circumscribing its perimeter. The reel member is of a size that when the slide tube slides downwardly, the reel member moves out of the lower end of the housing to a position spaced below the open, bottom end of the housing. When the slide tube slides upwardly, the reel member moves into the open end of the housing. A fishing line is attached to the bobber, and a leader portion of the fishing line that extends from the bobber. The leader portion can be wrapped around the recessed groove of the reel member.

  • Patent number: 5491924
Abstract: A manually held instrument having an elongated tube containing a compressed spring unit, into which tube a sinker of a connected fishline is adapted to be entered into abutment with the compressed spring unit. A stop restraining expansion of the compressed spring unit is adapted to be finger released by the fishman; and, when the stop is released from the compressed spring unit, the latter forcefully expands to cast the abutting sinker and connected fishline an appreciable distance from the instrument into the water. A push-rod slidable in an elongated support mounted to the body of the instrument may be removed by the fishman and entered into the elongated tube to return the spring unit to its compressed condition restrained by the stop.

  • Patent number: 5363584
Abstract: A slingshot for use in shooting a fish line comprises a Y-shaped body having two arms, each of which is provided with a safety pin and an upper tip to which an end of an elastic band is fastened. The elastic band is provided at the midpoint thereof with a leather piece attached firmed, thereto. The Y-shaped body further has a bottom end fastened to a fastener which is in turn fastened to a fishing rod. The bottom end of the Y-shaped body is fastened to the fastener in a manner that the Y-shaped body can be so adjusted as to be placed in a position perpendicular to the fishing rod or in a position in which the Y-shaped body rests on the fishing rod. With the slingshot, an angler is able to hurl out a fish line, along with a fishhook, a sinker and a float, to hit an intended area of the water surface.

  • Patent number: 5342003
Abstract: A spinning reel includes a pair of arms formed on a rotor disposed in a forward portion of a reel body. At least one of the arms carries an oscillatable arm, and a bail arm extends between the oscillatable arm and the other arm or an oscillatable arm attached to the other arm to be switchable between a line winding position and a line freeing position. A bail engaging element is formed on the oscillatable arm or a member oscillatable with the oscillatable arm. The bait engaging element is operable to hold a bait against a forward tension when the bail arm is set to the line winding position, and to release the bait forwardly when the bail arm is set to the line freeing position.
