Abstract: An apparatus for securing a fishing rod proximate to the arm of a user comprises a strap sized to extend around an arm of a user, a block extending from the strap and a finger extending substantially tangentially from the strap proximate to the block, the finger having a free distal end overlying the block wherein the protrusion and the block form a void sized to retain a fishing rod therein substantially parallel to the arm of the user.

Abstract: A portable fishing aid that contains two detachable parts, the outer sleeve and the sleeve holder, wherein the outer sleeve contains a built in audiovisual bite and alert monitor and the outer sleeve holder contain a wire basket or similar material permanently attached to a penetration spike that can be safely driven to the ground at a preferable angle and depth to withstand and support the weight of the fishing pole.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder that is foldable into a compact form, and includes an indicator to show a strike by a fish. The holder has a base with a first lock plate and a second lock plate, a first support having a first lock member, and a second support having a second lock member. The first and second supports are connected to the base such that the first and second supports may be rotated with respect to the base between an open position and a closed position. An indicator is attached to one support and to fishing line such that when the fishing line is pulled away from the reel, the indicator is changed from a first position with respect to the post to a second position with respect to the post.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a fishing rod holder having a generally annular mounting bezel which generally surrounds the mouth of a tube for receiving the butt of a fishing rod. The underside of the mounting bezel includes at least one blind hole or projecting mounting stud for receiving a fastener for mounting the rod holder without penetrating the exposed surface of the mounting bezel, providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance. A rod engaging member or pin engages groove sin the butt of a rod, allowing it to swivel. The amount of resistance of the rod engaging member or pin to swivel motion can be adjusted.

Abstract: An apparatus including a stake device for driving into a ground surface, a first device having a cavity into which a fishing rod handle can be inserted, and an alarm device. The stake device may be attached to or detached from the first device. The alarm device is triggered when the fishing rod handle is within the cavity of the first device and is sufficiently jostled as a result of a fish tugging on a fishing line connected to the fishing rod handle The first device may include a first compartment and a second compartment, wherein the first compartment fits within the second compartment, and the cavity is within the first compartment. The alarm device may include a first metal conductor attached to a periphery of the first compartment, and a second metal conductor attached to an interior of the second compartment.

Abstract: A clip or flexible handles extension facilitate simultaneous retention and operation of a bronchoscope and associated bronchoscopic tools held in one hand to allow operation by a single practitioner. Also provided is an adapter for the connection port of the working channel of a bronchoscope which performs both sealing and tool-locking functions. Also disclosed is a guide sheath arrangement with a reduced flexibility proximal portion to facilitate insertion of tools into the guide sheath.

Abstract: An adjustable fishing pole holder system which is adaptable to temporarily but securely mount on a variety of receiving structures is described. The adjustable fishing pole holder system of the invention may be mounted on horizontal structures of various cross-sections such as the hand rails of bridges, catwalks, jetties or similar structures. The adjustable fishing pole holder system may also be mounted on vertical or angled structures such as pilings and the like. The adjustable fishing pole holder of the invention is attached to a receiving structure by at least one adjustable strap which may further comprise a ratcheting strapped tightener. A fishing hook eye retainer is provided which allows a fisherman to securely attach a hooked line in order to prevent snag injuries. The invention may also be used to hold other devices such as flag poles or other pole-like structures.

Abstract: A fishing rod mounting assembly and method of providing the same is provided. The fishing rod mounting assembly includes a post for removably mounting within one or more cylindrically shaped openings of base mounting assemblies for securing a seat post of a boat seat in a boat. The fishing rod mounting assembly further includes a bar connected to the post, and one or more fishing rod holders mounted to the bar.

Abstract: A combined fishing rod and beverage holder for insertion into and removal from an opening in a marine vessel is disclosed. The combined fishing rod and beverage holder includes a substantially tubular hollow cylindrical member which is formed with an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion has a diameter which is larger than the diameter of the lower portion. The diameter of the upper portion enables a beverage container with or without an insulating jacket to be placed within and retained within the upper portion of the combined rod and beverage holder. The upper portion includes an outwardly projecting flange which includes apertures through which fasteners can be placed to secure the combined rod and beverage holder to a surface, such as a gunwale of a marine vessel. Other types or secure devices can also be employed to secure the combined rod and beverage holder to any surface.

Abstract: Anchor devices for maintaining the position of marine vessels, fishing rods, umbrellas, and other items are disclosed. In an aspect, an anchor device configured for use in or near a littoral zone is disclosed comprising an auger and a body. The auger is a conical, helical screw blade constructed of a composite material or other rigid substance chosen to limit damage to individuals and equipment. The body is configured to connect to a marine vessel, thereby providing a shallow water anchor for the vessel. In another aspect, the body is configured to connect to and anchor fishing poles, signs, umbrellas, and the like.

Abstract: A tackle box with a rod holder for use during fishing activities is provided herein. The rod holder is detachably attached to the tackle box. A rod holder mount attached or molded into one of the tackle box lids secures the rod holder. The rod holder swivels horizontally 360 degrees and can tilt up or down so that a fishing rod secured in the rod holder can be oriented as the user desires. The rod holder possesses a ground stake that allows the rod holder to be removed from the tackle box and used independently. Once the ground stake is driven into soil, dirt, or even loose rocks, the rod holder is rotatable and can tilt up or down allowing a fishing rod to be properly oriented. The tackle box has adequate storage space and internal compartments for keeping fishing tackle stored and organized. The fishing tackle is still accessible even when a fishing rod is mounted in the rod holder and the rod holder is attached to the tackle box.

Abstract: An improved fishing rod holder is provided that includes a base assembly, a rod holder assembly, and a connecting member that connects the base and rod holder assemblies. The connecting member is connected to the rod holder assembly with a first T-joint. The rod holder assembly is configured to hold two fishing poles. The first T-joint is removable from the connecting member such that the connecting member and base assembly may be filled with water or sand to weigh down the fishing rod holder. In a second embodiment the rod holder assembly and the connecting member are the same, but the base assembly is replaced with a triangular-shaped base assembly. In third embodiment stabilization in enhanced, in a fourth embodiment fewer components are required, and in a fifth embodiment a canoe embodiment is presented.

Abstract: A temporary mounting apparatus capable of quickly being mounted to and dismounted from a stationary body, such as a tree or a pole, without damaging the stationary body. The mounting apparatus includes an artificial limb which extends away from a base-plate forming the body of the apparatus. A line is suspended from the apparatus which may be used to catch live fish or to store items suspended above the ground.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder assembly includes a holding member for receiving and holding a fishing rod, and a support member comprising a substantially flat mounting section for positioning on a surface, and a supporting section angled in relation to the mounting section. A receiving member is rotatably connected to the supporting section and has a first opening formed therein for receiving and engaging the holding member, such that the holding member can be positioned at a desired angle relative to the surface by rotating the receiving member.

Abstract: A fishing pole mount that includes a support tube that has an adjustable support brace attached to it. The fishing pole mount also has an upper clamp that is not adjustable. The support tube of the fishing pole mount can be fixedly attached to a camp chair or other fixed object while a handle of a fishing pole can be inserted into the support tube. The fishing pole mount can be used either for storage of a fishing pole or a resting point while the fishing rod is in use.

Abstract: A device for automatic setting of a hook for use with an existing fishing rod comprises a base, a holder, and a trigger mechanism. The base comprises a weighted bottom portion and adjustable leg portions which provide stability to an existing fishing rod. The fishing rod is held at an angled position on the base via insertion of a handle portion into a tubular receiver. The holder mechanism comprises an adjustable-force coil spring for setting the hook. Furthermore, the trigger mechanism allows a user to place a rod in the holder and selectively adjust the tension required to release the trigger, such that a force applied by a hooked fish will cause the trigger to release, thereby allowing the coil spring to pull the rod upright to set the hook in the fish's mouth.

Abstract: To provide a better experience for ice fisherman and fisherman generally, the present inventor devised, among other things, apparatus, assemblies, components, and methods for holding a fishing device, such as a fishing rod. One exemplary apparatus includes an adjustable rod holder pivotably mounted or coupled to a base structure. The rod holder, which can be strapped or otherwise attached to one or more types of fishing rods or poles, has an adjustable center of gravity and/or an adjustable pivot point. The adjustable center of gravity and/or pivot point allows users to balance the fishing rod at various tip angles, up or down, and thus to position the rod in a way most suitable for the type of desired fish. The exemplary apparatus is particularly suitable as a replacement for the conventional tip-ups used in ice fishing, because it provides advantages of conventional rod &reel fishing with those of conventional tip-up fishing.

Abstract: A twist grip drive handle outrigger device for use on a fishing vessel having a first tubular member for holding of an outrigger pole, which is rotatably journaled to a second tubular member that is mounted to a fixed structure. The second tubular member houses a twist grip drive handle assembly that allows manual rotation of the outrigger pole. The driver assembly constructed and arranged to provide an unlocked condition by the twisting of the handle thereby allowing adjustment of the outrigger pole upon rotation of the first tubular member. The rotation of the first tubular member allows for movement of the outrigger pole from a stowage position to a trolling position and vice versa.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a portable mountable fishing rod support system. The system may support a rod having a handle and a finger support above a fixed structure. The system may include a grip base, a vertical support, and a rod cradle. The base may include an L-shaped bracket, a vertical wall, fasteners securing the L-shaped bracket to the vertical wall, and a plunger for removably securing the base to the fixed structure. The vertical support may include a hollowed cylinder, a bolt, and a pin for adjustably securing the hollowed cylinder to the L-shaped bracket. The rod cradle may include a central opening to accept the handle and may have a finger notch to accept the finger support when the handle is inserted into the opening. The rod cradle may be secured in positions around the vertical support by loosening and then securing the vertical support to the L-shaped bracket.

Abstract: An apparatus that holds a fishing pole in an unattended manner and utilizes a clamp that attaches to the fishing pole comprising a pair of appendages pivotally connected to a yoke in a balanced manner. Such positioning allows the pole to float or bob and enables a vertical removal from the yoke upon catching a fish. This articulating action is more likely to attract fish due to the movement of the lure. The yoke can be connected to a common tripod that sits on a bank or other solid ground near a fishing location or may alternately be fixed to various other structures.

Abstract: A mount for being positioned on a rail and for receiving a fishing rod holder is provided. The mount includes a retaining member having a pair of spaced-apart walls that are interconnected on respective first ends by a connecting wall, the pair of spaced-apart walls defining a gap therebetween and a compression block selectively receivable within the gap of the retaining member and having a width that approximates a width of the rail. A fastener engages the compression block and extends from about respective second ends of each wall of the pair of spaced-apart walls and is configured such that tightening of the fastener deforms at least one wall of the pair of spaced-apart walls into engagement with the compression block, thereby providing an interference fit between the pair of spaced-apart walls of the retaining member and the rail.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a portable mountable fishing rod support system. The system may support a rod having a handle and a finger support above a fixed structure. The system may include a grip base, a vertical support, and a rod cradle. Abstract: An ice fishing device is provided by the present disclosure including a collapsible elevated stand secured at one end to a base and a pivoting support at another end. The pivoting support includes a clamp for receiving a fishing rod at a variable location. The fishing rod is maintained in an inclined orientation when baited, and pivots to a declined orientation in response to receiving a fish on its line. The pivoting support and fishing rod may be disengaged from to stand after receiving a fish on the line to set the hook and reel in the fish.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder can be inserted into the ground into a variety of types of dirt, soil and sand, can receive and maintain the handle of a fishing pole, and be removed from the ground and easily transported when not in use. The fishing pole holder includes a first end having a receiving cavity configured to receive the stock of a fishing pole, and a second end having a plurality of teeth for insertion into the ground, so as to securely anchor the second end into the ground.

Abstract: A hose holder for a boat, or for another object upon which contact with a hose is undesirable, is a shaped rigid rod provided with a means for suspending the rod close to its midpoint, the shape created by bending each end of the rod into a helix. The rod is smaller in diameter than a common garden hose. The helices have a common, horizontal axis with an inner diameter larger than such a hose. The means for suspending the rod is above the outer diameter of the helices. Other embodiments utilize non-helical rod shapes to support the hose.

Abstract: A holder device attaching to a vehicle with a releasable attachment strip flexibly attached to a main body and having receptacles for holding a fishing rod. The attachment strip is releasably attached to a vehicle with a magnet or suction cup array. The attachment strip has a pair of connector arms attached to a top portion of the main body. Horizontal bars attached to the main body and the receptacles holding the fishing rod provide resilience and flexibility. A hinge on each of the pair of connector arms facilitates limited movement of the holder device absorbing loads applied during movement of the vehicle. An adjustable strut attached to a lower portion of the main body has a pad at one end providing another contact point on the vehicle. A handle attached to the body or horizontal bars facilitates carrying after detaching from the vehicle. A retaining strap may be attached to the vehicle and the holder device.

The support member comprises a bent or curved shaft, having a first end and a second end. The anchor comprises a substantially straight shaft having a first end and a second end, with the anchor being joined to the support member and extending downwardly. The anchor has a helix portion with an inner volume defining a hollow space, with the diameter and pitch of the helix being dimensioned to provide a configured resistance. The bridge substantially spans from the first end of the support member to the second end of the support member, with the first end of the bridge being fastened to the first end of the support member.

Abstract: A strap on fishing rod rack comprising of fixed horizontal panels, tubular housing, straps and a fastening device. The rack straps around an ice cooler or other object and hold a plurality of fishing rods in an upright position. The device is removable and can be affixed without the need for screws or drilling making it useful for mounting to coolers and other fixtures that are unsuitable for other mounting applications. The rack includes horizontal panels on which vertical fishing rod support tubes are affixed. Individual horizontal panels may consist of two members, each with a channel and groove extending the length of the member. The members may be joined creating a channel along the inside of each horizontal panel. The rack includes straps. A strap slides inside the horizontal panel, in one end, and exits out the other. A stainless steel ratchet buckle is affixed on one end of each strap providing a simple but secure method to firmly attach the apparatus to the fixture.

The holder has a generally cylindrical shape with a longitudinal upper opening, whereby the edges of the opening can be drawn together and the diameter of the cylindrical holder decreased, so as to hold generally cylindrical-shaped objects, such as a fishing rod, of varying diameters. The holder can have a stem which can be received by a bore in a mounting bracket that allows the holder to rotate. A nub on the stem fits into slots in the bore, so that the holder can be fixed in one position.

Abstract: Fishing rod components and method of making and using the same are disclosed. The fishing rod components include a fishing rod reel seat with one or more removable handles. The fishing rod components also include a multi-functional anchoring device that secures a fishing rod to the ground, dock, boat, or other object. The disclosed anchoring device may include two main securing devices: a ground spike and a clamp. The ground spike is used primarily for securing a fishing rod to the ground, and the clamp is used to secure a fishing rod to a dock, boat, or numerous other objects. The ground spike and clamp may be combined into one compact unit that can either be integrated into and form a removable fishing rod handle, or be a separate unit that resides underneath a fishing rod handle during use.

The arm support device includes an arm cradle that mounts above the handle of the elongated object. The arm cradle can be pivoted relative to the handle about a pivot axis that is offset to either the left or right side of the handle.

Abstract: A rod and reel assembly for deep water fishing. The rod employs a structure that eliminates the need for line guides along the length of the structure by use of a swivel guide that maintains the line between two rod members. The swivel roller is placed at the distal end of the structure allowing fishing line deployed from a mounted reel to the swivel roller to pass unobstructed through the structure. Also disclosed is an electric reel that includes a cantilever spool having an enlarged interior allowing hand control of free spooling. A two stage drag system employs a first set of springs to allow hands free spooling with minimal drag and a second set of springs for proper setting for the fish hauling.

Abstract: A handle system for use with a fishing rod. In one embodiment the system is attachable to a rod having a reel seat and operable in conjunction with a reel having a rotatable spool about which fishing line is wound. An attachment section attaches the reel to the handle system and attaches the handle system to the fishing rod. A handle section includes a handle about which a first hand can be placed to hold the rod while catching a fish. The handle extends in a direction away from the attachment section. A leveling system provides back and forth movement of fishing line along the reel spool when the reel is attached to the handle system and the fishing line is being wound on to the spool.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder includes a central shaft with telescoping sections and a pair of support legs secured adjacent the first end thereof. A third support leg attached to the central shaft provides further supports. A rod support arm is pivotally secured within a vertical slot in the second end of the central shaft. A second end of the rod support arm includes a forked end with finger sections. A T-shaped hanger supported by the forked end has a central leg section pivotally secured to a strap that engages the handle of a fishing pole. The fishing pole is free to pivot up and down relative to the T-shaped hanger. Raising the fishing pole disengages the T-shaped hanger from the support arm, thereby pivoting the rod support arm to a vertical orientation. An anchor further secures the central shaft to a support surface.

More particularly, the invention pertains to a cradle that is of a shape and size to firmly support the fishing rod and reel without the need for any type of brackets, bolts, straps, clips or the like. More importantly, the cradle is easily supported in a manner that allows the fisherman to freely move about without any interference from the rod and reel and further the invention is completely hands-free in function.

Abstract: A fishing pole holder suitable for use with a conventional pole and reel, but secured into ice is contemplated to provide deep securement of the holder into the ice, and self stabilizing by the holder against the ice. The holder may actually work in other materials, such as logs and earth, but may be sized and shaped to be particularly well adapted to securement into ice. The handle for turning the shaft may eventually come to rest on the ice to stabilize the holder and fishing pole handle disposed therein.

Abstract: A novel fishing rod support system including a fishing rod holder for supporting a fishing rod, an adaptor for suspending a fishing rod in the air and a stand capable of supporting holder on top of a surface. The first side and the second side are physically connected and spatially separated by an intermediate portion such that a support structure fits between the first side and the second side. The first side, the second side or both, may include at least one accessory mounting portion for interchangeably mounting fishing accessories to the base. One or more fishing pole holders are securely attached to the base. The first side, the second side, or both may include a indented portion comprising an arcuate or v-shaped form, a slanted portion, or a combination thereof. The indented portion provides improved attachment to a support structure by imparting compressive force onto a support structure.
