The enclosure bag being defined by a first and a second multilayer sidewall. A reel-enclosing pouch compartment is located adjacent the first end of the elongated bag, arranged to protectively enclose the reel. A first pocket is arranged on a forward portion of the first sidewall and a second pocket is arranged on a forward portion of the second sidewall for receipt of supplemental fishing gear and to provide a forward balance to the bag when a reel is enclosed adjacent the first end of the elongated bag.

Abstract: A combination fishing rod sheath and lure accessory bag are shown. The sheath is formed of a pliable fabric material and has an initially open interior for receiving a shaft portion of a fishing rod. A wrap-around closure formed integrally with the sheath is used to secure the sheath about the rod. A lure accessory bag attaches to the rod handle on the side of the side opposite the reel. A rigged lure can be received within the accessory bag interior and retained in the interior by closing a mating hook and loop type engageable closure. By turning the lure handle to take up any slack, the closure can be used to keep the line taunt at all times.

  • Patent number: 6263609
Abstract: An off-axis adapter for a parallel, offset fishing rod coupling is provided. The adapter includes a ferrule having two ends. The ends of the ferrule are each attached to a support and each support has a rod mount and a ferrule connection. The rod mounts each attach to a primary rod at mounting points, and the ferrule connections attach to the ferrule proximate to each respective end of the ferrule. The ferrule receives and maintains a secondary rod in a substantially parallel configuration in relation to the primary rod. Because the adapter is attached from the length or side of the host or primary rod, the installation of the adapter does not require matching dimensions of a host rod and a bushing. The adapter is installed onto a side portion of a fishing rod that has already been built and does not require removal of fishing rod components.

Abstract: A device allowing a person to carry a plurality of ice fishing traps. The device has two end pieces connected to each other by a plurality of sizing straps. Each end piece has a number of pockets capable of receiving the end of an ice fishing trap. The pockets on the respective end pieces are aligned so as to receive opposite ends of a trap. The device is then rolled in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the traps to form a cylindrical shape. Fastening means located on the outer surface of each end piece prevent the cylindrical shape from unrolling. A detachable shoulder strap enables the user to carry the device by slinging it over his/her shoulder, thereby leaving the hands free to perform other tasks.

Abstract: A fishing box has a case outwardly shaped to suggest use for fishing. The case has mating hinged upper and lower segments, the lower segment being formed from thermally insulating material. A tray formed from thermally insulating material is removably nestled in the lower segment to define a thermally discrete lower compartment. A mechanism disposed in the upper segment permits a rod and reel to be removably stored in the box. A sub-compartment in the upper segment stores dry foods separated by the tray and by the rod from cold foods in the lower compartment. Preferably, the lower compartment is sized and contoured to store a beverage container, such as a twelve ounce can of pop, and the upper sub-compartment is sized and contoured to store a sandwich.
