Casting Guards Patents (Class 43/41.2)
  • Patent number: 9565844
Abstract: Disclosed is a hollow plastic fishing weight comprising three separate bodies, which include a hemispherical body, a tapered cylindrical body and a concave lid. All three bodies are glued together to form a single piece of the hollow plastic fishing weight. An eye is attached on the hemispherical body and the concave lid at both ends of the fishing weight. A lead weight is placed inside the fishing weight that makes the lower part of the fishing weight heavier than the top part. A plurality of pellets are placed inside the fishing weight that produce sound to attract fish towards bait.

  • Patent number: 9364828
Abstract: A mechanical separator for separating a fluid sample into first and second phases within a collection container is disclosed. The mechanical separator may have a separator body having a through-hole defined therein, with the through-hole adapted for allowing fluid to pass therethrough. The separator body includes a float, having a first density, and a ballast, having a second density greater than the first density. A portion of the float is connected to a portion of the ballast. Optionally, the float may include a first extended tab adjacent a first opening of the through-hole and a second extended tab adjacent the second opening of the through-hole. In certain configurations, the separator body also includes an extended tab band disposed about an outer surface of the float. The separator body may also include an engagement band circumferentially disposed about at least a portion of the separator body.

  • Patent number: 8739459
Abstract: A bobber, including a buoyant body having a cavity at a first end connected with a passageway through the bobber, and a first shielding structure extending from the body at the first end and at least partially surrounding said cavity. When gravity and/or acceleration forces cause the bobber to slide down the fishing line, the diameter or cross-sectional dimension of the bobber body is sufficiently greater than the diameter or size of the first shielding structure to shield or hide the barbed tip of a fishing hook when a portion of the hook is disposed in the bobber cavity and the tip is disposed outside of the first shielding structure.

  • Patent number: 8683736
Abstract: A mechanism by which the hook and leader line are released from a casting float enclosure upon its impact with the water so that once the casting float enclosure opens, the leader line with hook and bait go into the water to attract a fish. A mechanism by which in the event the hook or leader line become snagged, the leader line would be lost but the casting float enclosure separately attached to the fishing line will be retrieved. A separating cage with a portion of the casting float to separate the hook and bait form the operating components of the casing float.

  • Publication number: 20110131863
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fishing rig having a fishing line, a fixture, a conical diverter and a hooking device. The conical diverter has a cylindrical wall portion that is contiguous with and extends from a conically-shaped wall portion having an aperture in the narrow end that allows the fishing line to pass through. The aperture has a diameter that is larger than a thickness of the line and smaller than a width of the fixture, which is attached to the line. The line passes through the aperture so that when the fishing rig is pulled through water, the fixture is positioned inside the conical diverter and prevents the narrow end of the conical diverter from traversing the line toward the hooking device beyond the fixture, thereby allowing the conical diverter to be pulled through the water ahead of and spaced from the hooking device.

  • Publication number: 20090077858
Abstract: An improved method for overhead casting and retrieving a fishing jig and bait. The fishing caster provides a generally cylindrical, hollow body having a flat, closed top, a wall and an open bottom. The body presents a body axis from top to bottom. Drag upon reeling in is reduced by a plurality of elliptical vents formed in the wall, each vent presenting an elliptical axis substantially in alignment with the body axis, and by a cone within the hollow body, extending downwardly from the top. The improved fishing caster also includes structure forming a threading hole in the wall and two radially spaced indentations along the bottom of the body. The indentations form a tooth substantially aligned with the body axis, to secure the fishing line to the caster. A fluorescent lighting stick is mounted on top, for night fishing, as well as location of the caster in foliage.
