  • Patent number: 11627731
Abstract: An articulated exoskeleton bait holder/protector and hook device for holding live or dead shrimp has a body formed of pivotally connected generally inverted U-shaped transverse body segments formed of stiff transparent plastic material defining interior cavities configured to receive the shrimps' head, abdominal segments, and telson. An arcuate eye opening extends over the front portion of the head segment. Retaining members extending through laterally opposed sides of the body segments releasably retain the shrimp in the interior thereof. A downwardly curved lip attached to the head segment causes the body to dive and oscillate from side to side as it is drawn through water. The body segments pivot to conform to natural movements of a live shrimp's abdominal segments as it moves forward or backward, and the open bottom portions of the body segments allow the scent of the shrimp to escape.

  • Publication number: 20100263259
Abstract: A fishing lure kit contains material for making fishing lures. The lures comprise, in combination, a hook, an eye assembly and a camouflage assembly for mimicking a live prey animal. The eye assembly comprises one flexible heat shrink tube having a first end and a second end. A bead is inserted into each end of the tube. Heat is applied to encapsulate the beads in the tube ends forming an eye assembly. The eye assembly is mounted to a hook and then camouflage is applied to create a prey animal. In another embodiment, two flexible heat shrink tubes are employed. A bead is mounted into one end of each tube and the opposite end of the tube is mounted to a rack to retain its pre-heat diameter after heat is applied. The eye assemblies are threaded onto the hook and overlap each other so that their respective eye stalks protrude in opposite directions. Camouflage material is added to finish the lure.

  • Patent number: 7621072
Abstract: A number of stackable weights can be bundled together and secured with a lashing to form a modular sinker of a desired weight. Each stackable weight has an elongated bar bounded by four side surfaces and having a fixed eye. A link member is movably attached to the fixed eye and terminates in a coupling eye. The link member provides a degree of motion between the coupling eye and the fixed eye of the bar, allowing the coupling eyes of multiple stackable weights to be connected together to a single fastener while the bars are positioned together in a side-by-side relationship. When so connected, the link members form a pyramid-shaped coupling structure that will reduce the likelihood of snagging the resulting modular sinker. The bars preferably have textured side surfaces to frictionally engage each other to maintain the bars parallel and to retain an elastic band that provides the lashing.

Abstract: A highly reflective fishing lure for use in fresh and salt water, and used to catch fish. The fishing lure includes a body molded from a precious metal and multiple stones being set onto the body. These stones form particular designs on the body. The lure has a tempered, gold plated fish hook. These lures when used in the water cause reflections from sunlight that makes the lures glimmer, sparkle and glisten and a refraction of light that makes light bounce in all directions thereby resulting in the attraction and catching of fish. These fish lures double as jewelry pieces.

  • Patent number: 7152361
Abstract: A fishing lure according to the present invention includes a flexible elongate body member, a cupped tail member attached to one end of the body member, and rib members connecting the body member to an inner surface of the cupped tail member. The cupped tail member is biased toward the concave configuration due to the presence of the rib members and the material used to construct the cupped tail member. The cupped tail member creates sound waves by moving between concave and convex configurations, and it also slows the fishing lure's movement through the water. Scent and color schemes are added to the fishing lure to attract fish and for identification purposes.

  • Patent number: 6202338
Abstract: A Crank Bait Fishing Lure that has a predictable wobble or action. A fishing lure made from a blank of rigid material and formed to provide a predictable wobble or action in an arch or approximately 180°, having a front end and a tail end. The front end has an eylet to which a line is attached, and the tail end has an eyelet to which a hook is attached. A lure, with appendages, which is shaped to have a center of gravity that causes a wobble from left to right and from right to left, while maintaining a horizontal attitude when drawn or dropped through water, thus allowing a lure to maintain an upright attitude. The transverse bend which characterizes this shape is placed nearer the front of the lure and it's depth is approximately one third of the overall length of the lure. The degree of bend to the front end of a lure will effect the depth at which a lure will travel as it is drawn through water. Change in the elevation or plane at the tail end will alter the wobble or action slightly.
