In accordance with the invention, the use of blends of a first gelatin having an pI of less than or equal to 5.2, such as a conventional lime processed gelatin, and a second gelatin having an pI of greater than or equal to 6.

    Abstract: A security document with a design (e.g. a generally oval seal) is constructed in such a way that the design is full value halftone, such as produced from juxtaposed line screens having a frequency between 100-133 lines per inch. Negative and positive masks having an image (e.g. arabic numeral, letter, or other symbol), are used with the screens to produce a printing plate. A document is printed with the printing plate in a conventional lithographic process, and there is an overprinting on the design (at least that portion having the image) with a white opaque ink or overprint varnish to produce an image. The image is not readily visible to the naked human eye when viewed generally perpendicular to the plane of the document, but is readily visible by the naked human eye when the document is tilted so that it is viewed distinctly non-perpendicular to the plane of the document.

The reflective density of the interaperture regions of dark screen 20 is at least 1.6, and pellucid film 10 is at least 0.05 mm thick.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method of forming a trench pattern in a ceramic green sheet for subsequently filling with a conductive paste resulting in a fully inlaid conductor pattern therefrom. Starting with a green sheet, a high contrast ink drawing of the desired conductor pattern is formed thereon. The drawing may be formed by direct printing on the green sheet or by first printing it on a flexible substrate such as paper and then transferring by xerography to the green sheet. Next, the green sheet is illuminated with an intense noncoherent light source to cause a high degree of absorption of the light energy by the inked areas and volatilization of the green sheet binder material thereunder, thereby forming a trench pattern conforming to the drawn pattern.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for simultaneously processing both sides of a film sheet include a pair of carrier webs extending through a nip defining mechanism and a dispenser for depositing a bead of the processing material on the carrier webs in the nip. The carrier webs are advanced through the nip by a distance greater than the length of the film sheet to be processed in order to spread the processing material, and then retracted and separated. The film sheet is fed to between the carrier webs at those areas which are covered with processing material. The carrier webs with the film sheet between them are advanced through a gap of predetermined width to press the processing material on the carrier webs into contact with the film sheet, thereby forming a sandwich. The film sheet remains in the sandwich for a suitable imbibition time, after which the film sheet is delivered. In one embodiment, the processing material takes the form of a frozen body which is deposited onto the carrier webs and melted.
