Abstract: A heat-melting glue gun including a body shell in which a heating member containing a heat-melting glue stick, a glue stick feeding means, a gas cylinder, and a current producer are mounted. A conduit pipe extends from the gas cylinder to end with a nozzle located below the heating member which is wrapped with a layer of thermal conductive net with good heat transfer ability. Wire lines having first ends connected to positive and negative electrodes of the current producer extend their second ends to points properly above the nozzle. When a flint in the current producer is struck, an instantaneous current is generated to cause a short-circuit spark to occur between the two second ends of the wire lines. Gas supplied from the gas cylinder and jetting from the nozzle is ignited by the spark to burn below the heating member, causing the glue stick in the heating member to be heat melted.

Abstract: A soldering tool (1) comprising a main housing (2) within which is located a fuel gas reservoir (4). A soldering body member (5) terminates in a rearwardly extending combustion chamber (11) within which is located a gas catalytic combustion element (14). A gas/air mixture is delivered through a jet outlet (21) where it is initially burnt with a flame in a flame combustion chamber (24) for raising the catalytic combustion element (14) to its ignition temperature. A piezoelectric ignition element (50) provides a spark across a spark gap (56) adjacent an electrode (55) for igniting the gas/air mixture to burn with a flame. An interrupt member (67) located downstream of a nozzle bore (28) temporarily interrupts the flow of fuel gas to the jet outlet (21) for extinguishing the flame after the catalytic combustion element (14) has been raised to its ignition temperature. A slidable actuator member (60) in the housing (2) sequentially operates the piezoelectric ignition element (50) and the interrupt member (67).

  • Patent number: 5375585
Abstract: A gas range includes a burner, a burner control unit, a piezoelectric igniter and a safety valve. The safety valve is situated between a gas supply and the burner. A thermocouple is situated near the burner. The piezoelectric igniter is used to ignite gas which vents out of the burner. As a flame occurs at the burner, a temperature at the burner will ascend. The thermocouple detects the increased temperature and generates a current to open the safety valve. If the flame goes out, the temperature will descend to the predetermined value. The thermocouple detects the decreased temperature and stops generating any current to actuate the safety valve. Thus, the safety valve is closed so as to keep any gas from venting out of the burner.
