Abstract: The invention relates to an LPG combusting burner device for flaming and flame cultivation purposes and an improved hand-held torch that may incorporate such burner device. The burner device includes a primary burner (14) having at least one fuel delivery nozzle or jet (80) arranged within an open combustion chamber (71) defined within a burner skirt (70) such as to direct a stream of fuel towards a flame delivery opening of the skirt (70), and a vaporiser (18) located in heat exchanging proximity to the primary burner (14) and having a pressurization chamber with an inlet for liquid LPG fuel and an outlet for gaseous LPG fuel, the inlet being arranged to be in fluid communication with a source of pressurized LPG and the other being in communication with the nozzle of the primary burner.

Abstract: A liquid fuel lamp which may be easily converted from a conventional beverage container. The liquid fuel lamp includes a container having a cylindrical wall connected to opposing top and bottom walls. The top wall includes an opening defined by a pair of side edges. A wick assembly is removably received within the opening in the top wall. The wick assembly includes a tubular metal sleeve supporting a substantially planar wick. Liquid fuel is received within the container wherein a lower portion of the wick is received in adsorbing contact with the liquid fuel. A stand is provided for supporting the container in an elevated position.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a utility lighter platform which includes a lighting mechanism configured to selectively ignite fuel supplied from a fuel supply container, and a frame configured to operatively house the lighting mechanism and configured to receive an outer shell thereon. The frame includes a fuel supply container housing structure configured to hold a fuel supply container at a first end of the frame and an insulating cap holding structure configured to receive an insulating cap at a second end of the frame and configured to house a nozzle operatively connected to the fuel supply. The frame also includes an ignitor assembly holding structure configured to house an ignitor assembly, and a trigger holding structure configured to operatively hold a trigger stem with which to activate the ignitor assembly and to release fuel from the fuel supply in order to ignite fuel received at the nozzle.

Abstract: An apparatus for connecting a lantern and a fuel source for a lantern to a boat for attracting fish to the boat, the apparatus including an elongated pipe for conveying fuel from a fuel reservoir to a fuel-burning lantern, the elongated pipe having a first end and a second end, first end of pipe being adapted to receive a lantern, the second end of the elongated pipe being adapted to receive fuel from a fuel reservoir, and a pipe holder connected to boat for holding the elongated pipe and lantern, the pipe holder being adapted to position the lantern at a distance away from the side of the boat over the water in which the boat may be floating to attract fish to the area beneath said lantern.

Abstract: A torch holder includes a supporting portion, a receiving portion and a engaging portion. The supporting portion includes an L-shaped upper portion and a lower portion with one end connected to the upper portion and the other end inserted into the ground. The engaging portion is also an L-shape and so positioned that both L-shaped structures are in the same plane to keep the holder from rotating and fixed in the vertical position. The receiving portion is mounted on the upper portion of the supporting portion, which includes a cylindrical holding portion mounted on the supporting portion with a screw or the like for securing the torch in a cylindrical holding portion.

Abstract: A support for a torch is disclosed. The support has a shank, a torch seat formed on the first end of the shank, a retainer provided on the second end of the shank. The retainer has a U-shaped bracket, a through hole defined in a face of the bracket, an extension screwed through the through hole, a handle integrally formed on the first end of the extension and a backing plate securely attached to the second end of the extension. Therefore, a gap defined between the backing plate and the inner face of the bracket is able to be adjusted by rotating the extension so as that the retainer is able to clamp an object to stand the support in an upright position.

Abstract: A burner set adaptable to standard commercial ovens that allows for the quick change-out of burners. Sockets, threaded on one end and open on the other end, are installed in existing threaded couplings in communication with a burner manifold. Each socket has a burner guide attached to the open end and receives a burner in the open end. The burners are secured to the oven by a burner support with a pivotally attached gate.

Abstract: A pilot assembly for producing a pilot flame including a pilot which includes a housing and a multiple orifice member mounted to the housing. The housing includes a gas flow passageway providing gas fuel from a gas source to the pilot flame. The orifice member positions one orifice in the passageway for metering the rate of gas flowing through the passageway, and hence combusted by the pilot, according to the type of gas. The orifice member can be moved relative to the housing so that another orifice is in the passageway for metering the gas when the pilot receives a different type of gas.

Abstract: A removable gas manifold assembly for a gas grill having a manifold bracket and a gas manifold connected to the manifold bracket. The manifold bracket has a substantially horizontal portion thereto at each end thereof, respectively, defining engaging surfaces. The engaging surfaces slidingly engage support surfaces of support members connected to a frame of the gas grill. The manifold has a gas valve with an exit port which is adapted to be in fluid communication with an entry port of a burner of the gas grill when the manifold is operationally positioned.

Abstract: A quick change pilot assembly (10) includes a pilot mounting plate (13) for securing the assembly to an appliance. A hood mounting plate (7) is detachable from the pilot mounting plate. A pilot hood (6) has at one end a flange (12) carried in an aperture of the hood mounting plate. A compressible member (3) has a central aperture and is disposed between the pilot mounting plate and the hood mounting plate. The compressible member is disposed to allow fuel to flow therethrough. An outer sleeve (11) and fitting receiving member (9) are sealingly affixed to the pilot mounting plate at a distal end thereof through an aperture in the pilot mounting plate, the circular compressible member, and the hood mounting plate aperture to the pilot hood. A lock sleeve assembly (2) is disposed within the outer sleeve and fitting receiving member. At one end, the lock sleeve assembly abuts and engages the compressible member central aperture. The lock sleeve also carries an orifice member (1).

Abstract: A venturi tube mounting system having a removable support which supports a venturi tube from a cooktop, prior to assembling of the cooktop, without the need for a burner box and support brackets. The mounting system includes a support device with a first portion engageable to a part of the gas stove cooktop and a second portion engageable to the venturi tube. The support device may have a C-shaped extension at one end for engaging the cooktop and a support element at a second end for supporting the venturi tube. The support can be provided in various forms including a wire-form structure, a clip-type structure, a stamp-formed structure, or similar structures.

Abstract: An apparatus for connecting a lantern and a fuel source for a lantern to a boat for attracting fish to the boat, the apparatus including an elongated pipe for conveying fuel from a fuel reservoir to a fuel-burning lantern, the elongated pipe having a first end and a second end, first end of pipe being adapted to receive a lantern, the second end of the elongated pipe being adapted to receive fuel from a fuel reservoir, and a pipe holder connected to boat for holding the elongated pipe and lantern, the pipe holder being adapted to position the lantern at a distance away from the side of the boat over the water in which the boat may be floating to attract fish to the area beneath said lantern.

Abstract: A portable space heater includes a base suitable for insertion into a cup holder of a vehicle or other inhabitable strcuture. The base carries a post on which fuel containers are carried. A holder at the upper end of the post includes a clamp which retains a burner assembly in place with a heat reflector vertically spaced upward from the base. Fuel lines and suitable valving and fittings provide a controlled fuel flow to the heat reflector.

Abstract: A liquid fuel lamp having a fuel container for containing a combustible liquid fuel, the fuel container having an open mouth. A non-metallic flame guard is connected to the fuel container and closes the mouth, the flame guard having a flared skirt that extends radially outward, covering the fuel container, and a wick opening in the flame guard, located above the mouth of the fuel container. A flame resistant wick holder is located in the wick opening and is not in contact with the fuel container. A wick extends upwardly from within the fuel container, through the wick holder, to a location above the flame guard without any continuous metallic heat flow path from the wick holder to the fuel container. The portion of the wick beneath the flame guard is guarded from free contact with the atmosphere surrounding the lamp by the combined action of the fuel container, flame guard, and wick holder.

Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-purpose lighter mainly including a case and an igniting means associated with the case to form a union body of the lighter. The case has an integrally formed separating wall which upward projects from a bottom center of the case and defines an elongated inner space with an expanded and internally threaded opening near the bottom of the case. A long pin having one pointed end and an expanded and externally threaded head opposite to the pointed end is screwed into the threaded opening of the separating wall for serving as a toothpick. The expanded head of the long pin has a projected handle for a user to hold to easily screw the long pin into the separating wall. The handle is formed with a connecting hole for a key ring with several keys to hook thereto. A bottle-opener is fixedly attached to the case by ultrasonic or high-frequency wave. The multipurpose lighter is more useful and heavier to draw the user's attention to more carefully keep it without carelessly dropping it here and there.

Abstract: A torch suitable for use in recreational applications, such as with patios or decks, includes a gas cylinder, a holder for the cylinder, a pole to support the holder and a burner for producing a stable, visible flame. The burner includes one or more holes for injecting primary air near a flow-controlled gas orifice and a burn tip spaced from the orifice. A bowl is mounted about the burn tip and is preferably shaped for providing wind resistance and admitting secondary air at its exit to produce a stable, visible flame. In the preferred embodiment, the enclosure is made from plastic, and has a socket for receiving the pole. An oil, such as citronella oil, may be mixed with the propane or other gas in the cylinder to scent the area in which the torch is used.

Abstract: A grill 10 is disclosed having: a burner housing 12; a frame 14 to support the burner housing 12; work surfaces 16, 18, and 20; and a gas supply system 22. These components provide a means for relatively easily adjusting the grill 10 between a cooking configuration and a storage configuration. Work surfaces 16 and 18 are positionable between a horizontal cooking position and a vertical storage position. A work surface 20 is removably attachable to grill 10. When work surfaces 16 and 18 are in a vertical position, and the work surface 20 is removed, the burner housing 12 and work surfaces define a first smallest perimeter around the grill. This configuration is ideal for moving and storing the grill 10. Depending on how many of the working surfaces 16, 18, and 20 are in a cooking position, second, third and fourth perimeters are defined. Thus, there is provided ample working surface space with optional reduction thereof for using, moving, and storing the grill 10.

Abstract: A lighter holder to releasably attach a cigarette lighter to a cigarette pack comprises a first portion that defines a first closed loop and a second portion that defines a second closed loop. The first portion is constructed of an elastic material that may be stretched from its original size and configuration to circumscribe a perimeter of a preselected cigarette pack, and returns to substantially its original size and configuration when removed from the preselected cigarette pack. The second portion is constructed of an elastic material that may be stretched from its original size and configuration to circumscribe a perimeter of a preselected cigarette lighter, and returns to substantially its original size and configuration when removed from the cigarette lighter. The second loop is connected with the first loop.

The apparatus comprises a plurality of brackets, each bracket being affixed to the manifold at a position essentially 180.degree. from the common line of orifices, and essentially perpendicular to the common line; each end of the bracket is retained near opposite side of the opening of the burner box compartment, and one end of each bracket is affixed to the side wall of the burner box.

Abstract: A one hand coating stripping device and a method of stripping coating in which operator required control of the angle of flame impingement, flame intensity, speed of movement and removal of stripped material is reduced to the single operator mandated parameter of control of speed of movement of a stripping device which automatically orients the center line of the flame at the most effective angle of impingement and the scraper blade at the optimum angle of attack following a single adjustment of a gas-air mixture compatible with the fixed and constant angles of impingement and attack, the stripping action being carried out by the use of only one hand of an operator.

Abstract: A device for holding and covering a gas pilot used to ignite a gas burner includes a rigid bracket for holding the pilot and a rigid cover over the pilot. The bracket includes a bifurcated plate that grips the pilot and holds it in fixed relation to the gas burner. The cover extends over the pilot to protect it from being misaligned by heavy objects and from being extinguished by drafts and by materials heated over the burner. The device increases the reliability of the gas burner.

Abstract: An improved lighter-key-holder arrangement, wherein the key-holder is independent from the lighter and comprises a detachable fitting having a cross-section similar to that of the lighter. The cross-section can be circular or rectangular. The fitting is coupled to the lighter by a threaded pin centrally formed thereon and received in a threaded bore hole centrally formed on the bottom surface of the lighter. The fitting is provided with a transverse opening that is closed by a latch actuated by a spring and manually operated by an external button. In another embodiment, the fitting has a cross-section different from that of the lighter. In yet another embodiment, the lighter body is spherical. In still another embodiment, a connecting ring may be provided on the body of the lighter, on the fitting or on the trigger lever of the lighter.

For the achievement of a thorough mixing of hot and cold gases and a low mixing temperature, between the outlet end (13) of the first mixer tube (6) and the inlet end (19) of the second mixer tube (18) there is disposed a filler body (16) filling the radial distance between the two tube ends and having a radial end face (21) from which the outlet end (13) of the first mixer tube (6) protrudes by a given amount "s." The aspiration points (20) for the secondary air are disposed exclusively in the area of the outlet end (13) of the first mixer tube (6) and aimed radially at the nozzle axis (A--A).

Abstract: A garden torch, or tiki torch, comprises a pole pointed at its lower end with a bracket attached to the top of the pole. The upper portion of the bracket is a cover with a wick and a wick hole. A beer can or soft drink can, the contents of which have been replaced with torch oil or other illuminating liquid, may have the wick inserted through the top hole in the can, and the can may then be inserted into the bracket.

Abstract: A modified quartz element having plasma and auxiliary gas ports, a upper chimney mount, a unique chimney holder and injection tube mount, and a compression plug is disclosed. The chimney holder and injection tube mount includes a specially machined groove so that a unique, double O-ring seal between the mount and the quartz element may be developed. The injection tube mount also includes a specially designed bore for receiving two O-rings so that the injector tube is supported in and sealed with the mount only through the use of resilient O-rings.

Abstract: An improved lighter-key-holder arrangement, wherein the key-holder is independent from the lighter and comprises a detachable fitting having a cross-section similar to that of the lighter. The cross-section can be circular or rectangular. Abstract: This invention relates to a multi-purpose gas lighter which has an incurve in the body to receive the hem ridge of a drink can, a can tab lifting device, a bottle opening device, a perfume chamber for emission of fragrance, and a triangle piece to hang key rings and other items on, all these in addition to the fire-lighting section of ordinary lighters.

Abstract: The disclosure is of a safety lighter including the usual lighter mechanism having a finger-operated activating lever which is coupled to a vertical rod which extends into the body of the lighter or a sleeve which encloses the lighter. The lower end of the vertical rod is coupled to apparatus which is operated by the user to permit the lighter to be operated once and then disabled.

Abstract: The holding device consists of a housing having a means of attachment and suspension. The housing contains an extension device formed by a reel and return spring for a tension cord attached to the reel. The cord passes through an opening in the housing and is used for attaching the lighter. A catch shaft for the lighter surrounds the opening in the housing.

Abstract: A device comprising in combination a cigarette lighter and a housing with a retractable reel mechanism contained therein, the housing being formed of two generally cup-shaped halves secured together and housing a coil spring and retractable take-up spool therein for connection to one end of a cord or the like, the other end being coupled to a fastener configured and adapted for captively and releasably retaining the cigarette lighter. Cord retraining means is included for retaining the amount of extension of the cord at a selected point, the release of which allows the reel mechanism to retract the lighter. A clip member or the like is attached to a side surface of the housing for enabling attachment of the device to an article of wearing apparel, such as a belt or waistband of trousers. In one embodiment, the circumference of the housing is cut away or contoured to form a lighter receiving cavity or compartment configured and adapted for releasably retaining the cigarette lighter.

Abstract: A portable torch including: a gas tank containing therein a combustible gas and another gas tank containing therein a combustion supporting gas; a plurality of pressure regulating mechanisms, in which the primary pressure sides are connected to said gas tanks through plug opening mechanisms, respectively; and a torch portion is connected to the secondary pressure sides of the pressure regulating mechanisms through flexible gas feeding tubes, respectively, provided at the forward end thereof with a jet and having no gas flow rate regulating function. The pressure regulating mechanisms regulate the secondary pressure and gas flow rate from the jet through the secondary pressure. Check valves for blocking the flow of gas from the torch portion to the pressure regulating mechanisms is interposed between the respective pressure regulating mechanisms and the torch portion, to thereby prevent backfire of the flame of the jet.

Abstract: Apparatus for extracting and burning methane gas from a landfill refuse site comprises a first venturi to which is fed compressed air. The venturi is connected to a well in the site and acts to draw methane from the well. The methane/air mixture is fed to a second venturi for enrichment with air. The enriched mixture is fed to a burner for combustion.Preferably the compressed air is supplied by a diesel driven compressor.

Abstract: A retractable lighter apparatus discloses a retractable housing member including a spring-biased retractable first length of chain positionable within a housing secured to a second length of chain with an intermediate abutment sphere to maintain the second length of chain exteriorly of the housing. The second length of chain is integrally secured to a "C" shaped spring clip at its remote end securable about a cigarette lighter. The cigarette lighter and clip are positionable within a pouch of an internal diameter complementary to that of the external diameter of the "C" shaped clip, wherein the "C" shaped clip and associated second length of chain are directed within the pouch and along a slot axially positioned through a wall of the pouch. The retraction member and the pouch are each provided with clips for securement to various garment portions of an individual.

Abstract: A portable igniter for igniting logs on a fireplace grate to a flame burning state. The igniter is comprised of a tubular burner having fuel emitting ports adapted to be supported for placement beneath a grate on which the burner is connected via a separable coupling and flexible hose to a gas regulating valve mounted on a cylinder tank charged with propane gas. The burner portion of the apparatus is adapted to remain in place within the fireplace beneath the grate until a self-sustaining blaze is produced. The connector hose, regulator valve and a propane cylinder are normally detached after ignition of a log is completed and are thereafter stored conveniently in and about the household for future use.

Abstract: The present invention provides a cigarette lighter case whose one edge is connected with a one piece clip member by which the lighter can be attached to a cigarette package. The clip member has at least three parallelly spaced planar plates lying in the same plane and a transverse strip coplanar with and connected to one end of each of said plates. The clip member is connected to the lighter case by means of a hinge member.

Abstract: A device for supporting a combustible package containing a heat-dispersible material and a combustible material while the package is consumed fabricated from a single rectangular sheetmetal blank. The blank includes a center area extending across the width of the blank defined by two spaced-apart center scorelines. End sections which are mirror images of each other extend from the center scoreline to the respective end of the rectangular sheetmetal blank. Each end section includes a rectangular inner portion which is bound on two sides and one end by the outer portion, and on the other end by the center area. The center area is fixedly attached to the one end of the inner portion and to the outer portion. The device is fabricated by folding the inner portions upward into a parallel position to provide a space therebetween for holding a combustible package.

Abstract: A gas-fired water heater including a tank to contain water to be heated and a flue extends axially through the tank. A burner is located at the lower end of the flue and has a smaller cross sectional area than the flue to provide an annular space between the burner and the lower end of the flue. The burner has at least one outlet port that directs a flame pattern in proximate relation to the lower end of the flue. A locator assembly supports the burner from the flue and positions the burner axially of the flue.

Abstract: A disposable lighter has an elongated body and an L-shaped clip that has a dual purpose of actuating a release valve for gaseous fuel and securing the lighter within a user's pocket. Simplicity in design renders the device easy to manufacture, reliable in performance, and disposable after exhaustion of the fuel supply.

Abstract: A liquid fuel burning torch includes a container having a substantially barrel-shaped main portion which defines a chamber accommodating a liquid fuel during use. The top wall of the container has an upwardly upset threaded neck portion on which there is mounted a closing cap having a circumferential wall provided with external and internal threads, the internal threads meshing with the external threads of the neck portion. The closing member also has a transverse wall which has a central aperture for the passage of a wick therethrough. A snuffer cap having a circumferential wall provided with threads meshing with the external threads of the closing member can be fittingly mounted on the closing member so as to extinguish the flame by denying access of oxygen to the wick portion extending outwardly of the closing member. The closing member has an external flange which frictionally engages the top wall of the container around the neck portion upon tightening.

Abstract: An igniter assembly is disclosed for detachable mounting on and use with a standard gas torch. The subject igniter can be actuated from a point remote from the torch nozzle to cause a shower of sparks above and across the torch nozzle to effect ignition of a gaseous mixture flowing from the torch.
