  • Patent number: 8903604
Abstract: A calculation unit of a hydraulic shovel display system sets a predetermined display range displayed as a guidance picture for land shape data. The guidance picture shows a cross section of a target surface included in a display range as seen from a side of a main vehicle body, and a current position of the hydraulic shovel. The calculation unit calculates a position of a start point nearest the main vehicle body and a position of an end point set apart from the start point by a maximum reach length of the work machine in the cross section of the target surface as seen from the side based on land shape data, work machine data and a current position of the main vehicle body. The calculation unit calculates a predetermined reference point of the display range based on the positions of the start point and the end point.

  • Patent number: 6129256
Abstract: The invention provides a reflow furnace for an electronic assembly. The electronic assembly comprises a printed circuit board and a device on the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board has solder at a first area near the device and a metallic surface at second area distant from the device. The furnace comprises a frame, a support, a heater, and a shield. The support is secured to the frame and is capable of holding the printed circuit board. The heater is secured to the frame and is capable of heating the printed circuit board while being held by the support. The shield is secured to the frame and is positioned to prevent solder from migrating from the first area to the metallic surface at the second area while the printed circuit board is being heated.

  • Patent number: 5605454
Abstract: A quartz tube with multiple thermocouple ports arranged along its radius allows for the quartz tube to be rotated while the thermocouple is always placed in the bottom position of the quartz tube. This avoids a problem of the sagging of the quartz tube. When quartz tubes are not rotated, the quartz tubes tend to start sagging from their top. By rotating the quartz tube different portions of the quartz tube are at the top at different times. By using multiple thermocouple ports arranged around the radius of the quartz tube, the thermocouple can be positioned at the bottom of the quartz tube for different orientations of the quartz tube.

  • Patent number: 4588377
Abstract: A thermocouple probe assembly for a billet furnace is provided with replaceable contact tips joined to the shanks of the probe rods within a surrounding insulator to inhibit oxidation of the junctions. Two pairs of probes are used, each pair being associated with an independent control circuit as a safety backup system. The assembly is preferably mounted on a bracket that is extendable on an angle forty-five degrees to the horizontal to provide correct probe positioning for various sizes of billets, and has a heat shield correspondingly adjustable along the probe assembly to accommodate various degrees of penetration of the probe assembly into the furnace.

  • Patent number: 4533319
Abstract: A problem that can occur with a large rotary kiln assembly is that it can move out of position or seals can become defective, making an escape of materials possible. The present invention provides transducers (10, 15) for detecting movement of the rotary kiln itself or part of a seal assembly secured thereto relative to an inlet/outlet arrangement of the kiln assembly or a part of a seal arrangement secured thereto and also means whereby the condition of the seals can be monitored by following changes in the pressure or flow rate of a purge gas. If the rotary kiln (2) should move out of alignment, then corrective action can be taken. If the seals should leak, then they are changed. A record of kiln movement is provided and if movement is excessive, an alarm (20) is sounded.

  • Patent number: 4487575
Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring the operation of a rotary drum such as a rotary kiln while engaged in thermal processing of fine grained materials such as cement which involves measuring the temperature distribution existing instantaneously during such processing by means of one or more sensors which are not in contact with the drum and comparing the distribution with other parameters related to the thermal processing. Such other parameters may include, for example, the rate of fuel feed, the rate of raw material input, the drum speed, and the driving power supplied to the drum.

  • Patent number: 4391584
Abstract: The temperature of an open textile web is monitored by a sensing unit including an infrared pyrometer. The pyrometer is disposed at a viewing angle between about 5.degree.-25.degree. with respect to the horizontal. A housing mounts the pyrometer, a fan, a filter bag connection, and an exhaust tube. The exhaust tube extends through the wall of a textile-treating oven, with an air flow through the tube preventing pyrometer contamination.

  • Patent number: 4060377
Abstract: Apparatus for monitoring product temperature in a furnace, the furnace being of the open ended and secondary emission type, and having a plurality of serially arranged heating zones therein, each of the zones being adjustably heated. The furnace includes a conveyor which passes therethrough for carrying product thereon through the furnace. As is conventional, the furnace includes an outer casing or wall and an inner muffle with a cavity therebetween. Heaters are provided for applying heat to the cavity to heat the wall of the muffle. Tubes are provided for passing through the casing and into the muffle so that temperature sensing means may pass through the tubes into the muffle superimposed of the conveyor. The temperature sensors are connected to a monitoring system for amplification and for monitoring the temperatures directly of at least the critical zones of the furnace so that adjustment of the temperature may be made within preselected zones without causing loss of product.
