  • Patent number: 9974936
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for manufacturing a microstructure, the method comprising: (a) placing a viscous composition on a substrate; and (b) applying negative pressure to the viscous composition to induce an extension of the viscous composition, thereby forming a microstructure, and a microstructure manufactured therefor. According to the present invention, a microstructure can be formed without performing a heat treatment by applying a negative pressure. Consequently, it is possible to mount on a microstructure various materials that are sensitive to heat and easily damaged or degenerated. According to the present invention, a microstructure can be manufactured in a non-contacting manner, that is, without being contacted with conventionally used another structure such as a mold or filler.

  • Patent number: 9936977
Abstract: A revisable orthopedic anchor and method of use for removably securing an anchor in bone, such as compromised or degenerated bone, is described herein. In one embodiment, the anchor makes use of dual probes and vector divergence of the distal tips of the probes to achieve superior bone purchase and pull-out resistance. In such an embodiment, the probes can be inserted one at a time into a hole formed in, for example, the pedicle bone. After the probes are inserted and joined at the proximal end, they have a greater pull-out resistance than a threaded anchor. Removing the anchor involves separating the proximal heads and reversing the implantation process. As a result of the unique bone anchor design disclosed herein, the devices and methods of the present invention allow for less complicated implantation and removal of orthopedic anchors, all while providing enhanced bone purchase when implanted in a patient.

The implant comprises an attachment device (3), comprising: a so-called gripping portion (31) for gripping the osseous tissue, a so-called expansion portion (32), said two portions being mobile in relation to each other, engaging mechanical connection means (33, 33a, 33b), located on the gripping portion (31) on the one hand and on the expansion portion (32) on the other hand, such that the relative mobility of the two portions has at least one degree of freedom, and such that a relative movement of said two portions causes an extension of the gripping portion, said extension causing the gripping portion to engage with the osseous tissue. The endosseous implant can in particular be used in the dental field.

Abstract: Silver and/or zinc ion releasing implants, systems and method of operating, inserting and activating/inactivating them are described. In some variations the implant is configured as a bone implant that includes a bone-screw or intramedullary rod like body configured to receive a treatment cartridge having a plurality of ion-releasing members configured as an anode that can controllably engage with a catheter to turn galvanic release of ions on/off as desired. These devices may be configured to release silver ions (and/or zinc ions) above a predetermined level for a predetermined period of time and may maintain a concentration of ions over a relatively large volume of tissue. The ion-releasing members may be configured to reduce or prevent implant movement.

Abstract: A dental implant system having a first implant part, provided for introduction into a jawbone, and having a second implant part, provided for attaching a tooth replacement part, the implant parts being mechanically interconnectable via a connection pin which is integrally formed on one of the implant parts and which is insertable into a receiving duct provided in the other implant part, is to have a particularly high stability and long duration of use, even when ceramic materials are used for the implant parts. For this purpose, in a contact region to the receiving duct the connection pin is provided with a spacer formed of a material softer than the material of the connection pin, and the connection pin has a porous surface, in the surface region which is provided with the coating, to form a material fit connection to the coating.

  • Patent number: 9770314
Abstract: A detachable prosthodontic device includes an abutment, a suprastructure, and a screw. The abutment includes a hollow chamber. A screw hole is arranged on an abutment wall of the hollow chamber. The suprastructure is provided with a receiving region and an inner surface surrounding the receiving region. The screw includes a screw head and a screw rod. The screw head includes a contact member and a guiding member. When the screw is mounted in the screw hole, a portion of the screw head protrudes outward from an outer surface of the hollow chamber. When the suprastructure is sleeved onto the abutment, partial area of the outer surface of the hollow chamber contacts with partial area of the inner surface of the suprastructure, and the screw head supports an opposing side of the inner surface to apply a force onto the inner surface to thereby retain the suprastructure onto the abutment.
