Abstract: Active vibration isolation (AVVI) systems are becoming more available in various markets, one such market being vehicle operator seating. Unfamiliarity with the performance of such systems may cause users initial perceptions of system performance to be unfavorable. AVI systems can include a demonstration system capable of providing simulations too users of various types of vibration isolation systems under various input conditions, so that users can be introduced to the system benefits over other systems before using an AVI equipped product in its intended application.

Abstract: The invention relates to a machine that simulates movement during transport, for the testing of packaging elements. The machine comprises: a load platform (1), the lower part of said platform having attached thereto a plurality of upper ball joints (3, 61,71) with a ±30° rotation angle, coplanar with the axis of rotation of a rotating support (5, 5?, 5?); and a lower platform (6) which is located opposite the load platform (1) and which is provided with anchors for attaching same to a vertical vibration table (25,26). Abstract: The invention features a liver cell culture comprising hepatocytes that have increased detoxification enzyme activity when isolated from a liver of a donor that had been administered at least one induction agent prior isolation of hepatocyte cells. The induced hepatocytes are used in a bioreactor and cultured to produce hepatocyte cell products or metabolize toxins added to the culture. The bioreactor is, or is an integral part of, a liver assist device used to treat a patient in need of liver assist.

Abstract: Instructional apparatus for training automotive service technicians in the skills required for isolating, identifying and repairing malfunctions in sophisticated automotive electronic systems uses a group of electronic circuit modules wherein each module simulates at least a portion of an automotive electronic circuit and one or more modules may be connected to form more complex circuits. One or more jumper wires associated with each of the modules may be altered by an instructor to create at least one fault condition representative of an electrical malfunction in the circuit associated with the module.
