  • Patent number: 8113839
Abstract: An image and motion corresponding to the image are presented in response to a request issued by an user. The user transmits image data from a terminal to a motion data generating apparatus. The motion data generating apparatus generates motion data from the received image data. The motion data generating apparatus transmits the generated motion data together with the image data, in a mutually related fashion, to an image/motion control apparatus. The motion data generating apparatus also transmits ID data assigned to the image data and the motion data to the terminal. The image/motion control apparatus stores the received data. When the image/motion control apparatus receives ID data input by a user via an image/motion presenting apparatus, the image/motion control apparatus reads image data and motion data corresponding to the received ID data and transmits the image data and the motion data to the image/motion presenting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7811089
Abstract: A steering sensing apparatus for measuring steering actions of a driver of a motor vehicle for use in an apparatus for simulated driving of the vehicle in which the motor vehicle remains stationary. The apparatus includes two ultrasonic transducers which are mountable relative to a steerable wheel of the vehicle to each transmit an ultrasonic signal to a target location on the steerable wheel, which target locations are on the same side of and equally oppositely spaced from the centre of the steerable wheel along a generally horizontal diametrical line. Each transducer provides an output electrical signal representative of the magnitude of steering movements of the steerable wheel. The signal representative of the steering movements can be used in the apparatus for simulated driving to deflect computer driven virtual scenic imagery to simulate turning of the vehicle in synchronism with the steering actions of the driver.

  • Patent number: 7270545
Abstract: An apparatus for performing realistic motorcycle stunts while stationary includes a motorcycle, a restraint bracket, a road simulation means, a failsafe mechanism frame savers, an exhaust vent system, and safety protection. The restraint bracket comprises a bracket system for the attachment of the motorcycle to the apparatus. The road simulation means comprises an apparatus such as a 900 lb. Barrel that spins on two pivot points creating 100% balance under the rear wheel or front wheel of the motorcycle for “popping a wheelie” or performing an “endo” that can simulate actual road conditions. The failsafe mechanism frame savers comprises a series of sensors in electronic communication with the restraint bracket and road simulation means to ensure that the motorcycle does not roll over on one side or pitch back too far.

  • Patent number: 6095920
Abstract: The objective of this invention is to provide an image synthesis method, games machine, and information storage medium that make it possible for a game to be satisfyingly enjoyable, even when a single player is playing it. History information relating to the performance of the player is recorded during one game session, and this history information is reproduced in another game session. A virtual player performs based on the thus-reproduced history information, and thus acts so as to affect the game result of the player. The virtual player either assists the player or acts as a combat opponent. This makes it possible to implement a game that is interesting even in single-player mode.

  • Patent number: 5399091
Abstract: A drive simulation apparatus is provided with a base, a driving compartment body, a seat, a steering wheel, a non-motorized turning mechanism, road terrain display mechanism and a body vibrating mechanism. The driving compartment body is rotatably provided mounted on the base. The seat accommodates a player and is attached to and rotatable with the body. The steering wheel is rotatably mounted to the body. The non-motorized turning mechanism turns the body with respect to the base when the steering wheel is turned with respect to the body. The road terrain display mechanism displays moving road terrain. The body vibrating mechanism vibrates the body.

  • Patent number: 5346398
Abstract: A stationary game machine can responds to steering by a player to change the orientation of a dummy mover such a vehicle or the like, and also to translate the dummy mover in a direction crossing the dummy mover's path of movement at a speed corresponding to the changed orientation. The game machine can comprise a stationary vehicle used as the dummy mover and an endless belt representing a road as the path of movement. As the scenes on and in the road change in association with the movement of the endless belt, a steering wheel is rotated by the player to change the orientation of the vehicle and, at the same time, to translate the vehicle in the transverse direction. Tile translation of the vehicle is accomplished by a combination of a rotating shaft with a pressure roller contacting the rotating shaft, the cross-angle between the rotating shaft and the pressure roller being controlled to generate a thrust for translating the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4270306
Abstract: A toy driving simulator has a body in the form of a vehicle, e.g., automobile, boat, snowmobile, tank or spaceship, within which is a selectively driven belt upon which a path or paths to be followed and obstacles to be avoided are depicted. A miniature vehicle to be steered is connected to be moved laterally with respect to the belt by a manipulatable steering device. The path-displaying surface of the belt and the miniature vehicle are viewable in a mirror that is generally, but not necessarily, in the form of the inside surface of a simulated windshield.
